I grew up listening to Oklahoma, My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music on our hi-fi, courtesy of my mom. Those, still, are my favorites.

I think you should consider producing a stage version of Oklahoma in Iraq. The terrain is perfect.

My cousin gives me crap about her, but I love Crystal Gayle - went to her concert last night in RI.

LOL! Me too. I went through a phase in my late teens where I was real into rock operas: Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita. Yeah, I even owned Chess (”One Night in Bangkok”). But yes, I could get the old stuff stuck in my head. Worse is that you can surrender your man card immediately if you ever sing any out loud.

(Worst songs possible for a guy to sing out loud: “I Feel Pretty,” from West Side Story; “At the Ballet” from A Chorus Line.)

Yes, I should have specified lol. When my husband was deployed last time, I bought 3 cheap shuffles off Lejeune Yard Sales and would rotate them for him in his care packages, updating the mix with new songs every time. He loved it.

There is something called 'latent tendencies'. Further testing required:

Do you like:

Liza Minelli?

Connie Francis?

Whitney?

Haha. I use my girls as excuses to watch and listen to all kinds of stuff I would never admit to in general public.

Loved that song, but the version that I loved the most of all was by Timi yuro. Little tiny Timi Yuro with a voice of a giant. She was great IMO.

I’m not sure I’d hate to admit it - in church perhaps. The old “My ding-a-ling” song or whatever it was.

And for everyone else - “The Love Shack” (by the B52’s I think?).
