I apologize for the vanity, but some one at the University of Maryland should be fired and flogged for the football uniforms.

They are beyond ugly. If some one finds a picture, please post it.

Maryland uniforms are ugly. Must have been designed by women. Only thing missing is a turtle on the seat of the pants. I notice none of the coaches on the sidelines are wearing the same thing. Saturday night, the Georgia coaches’ shirts were the same as the players.

They are Under Armor uniforms. The helmet and shoulder pads are the motif of the Maryland state flag (one of the most unusual in the country).

I actually like it better than Georgia’s new uniforms or Oregon’s glow in the dark.

Some schools are very traditional - Penn State, Michigan, Alabama, Southern Cal, Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma. What do all these programs have in common?

The same is true in baseball: the Yankees, Tigers, Cardinals are very traditional. They don't even have a dark colored alternate road jersey, Other teams (Astros, Indians, Royals and Rangers seem to have new designs all the time.

Nittany is the name of a mountain (big hill) range near the Penn State campus. The Nittany (Ninnaly to Barack Obama fans) Lion is a mountain lion rather than a Detroit Lions (toothless) style lion.

Ugly uniforms or not, I have to go with Maryland. Half the Miami players belong in jail and the school deserves the ‘death penalty’ far more than SMU did in the mid 1980s.
