I dunno, there are some crazy dogcatchers.

A small town in Wyoming was getting overrun with stray dogs and cats, and the mayor thought he should hire a dogcatcher. A guy who worked at the treatment plant said he would clear out the strays for $5 per.

The mayor kinda assumed the guy was going to round them up and take the stray animals to the nearest shelter 60mi away. But the new dogcatcher simply drove up and down the streets in that small burg shooting everything on four legs that was running loose with a .22 rifle and tossed the dead animals into the back of his pickup...some of them shot down in the street right in front of their owner’s homes...and the mayor’s dog, which also ran loose in that town, was one of the first ones to go down.

The town hired and fired it’s first dogcatcher within 24hrs, he later became a neighbor of mine, and used to complain he never did get paid for services rendered...he was hired to clear the streets of stray animals and he just thought he was being expeditious.
