Anyone else spending Christmas Eve alone? (vanity)

Merry Christmas everyone! My sincere hope is that all of you, each and every one, will have a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Just wondering if any others out there are spending this sacred night solo.

Besides my trusty Boxer, Django the Wonderdog, and a new edition to the household, a gorgeous long-haired black cat I have dubbed Jackson, I have the house to myself all evening and night.

Tomorrow, it will be family wall-to-wall at mom's house, complete with gifts and an excellent multi-calorie dinner. But, tonight, I'll enjoy a quiet supper and a nice cappuccino, watching "The Muppet Christmas Carol," and maybe "A Christmas Story." Probably turn in early.

Anyone else in Freeperland alone tonight? Just curious.

For those who are alone tonite, the person who is separated from his wife and missing his kids, the one who is at the VA, the lady who has the husband with parkinson’s, and all the rest on here tonite, may the Holy Spirit lay his hand on you and your lives and give you peace of heart.

I am here watching TV, hubby went to bed just now, we went to early church service where the worship team is like going to a Christian concert, I was so moved, with the love of the Lord for all of us, no matter what cross we have to bear, no matter our problems, he is with us..every step of the way.

Sit back, enjoy a nice pale ale. And have visions of sugar plums, and moving trucks pulling into the White House next year.

A couple of years ago, I had a photo exhibit in Sweden with a photographer friend. We set it up and were anxiously awaiting it opening. He taught at a local school and told me at least we would have his students stop by. To both our surprise, even the local news showed up to cover it.
At one point, I am talking to what seemed like several people at once when I feel a tap on my shoulder. It was my fellow photographer. He said” there are two people here who have been waiting to meet you since this was announced”.
I turn to see two of the MOST beautiful, young (17ish) girls on Earth. One was from Kuwait and one from Iran. The reason they wanted to meet ME? NOT photos..because to them, the “American Army is THE ONLY PEOPLE ON EARTH WHO GO AROUND THE WORLD TO SAVE PEOPLE”...that was THEIR quote..IN ENGLISH. I was HONORED.
They asked me if I knew” anyone in the American Army”. I told them I did and they made me PROMISE I would tell any “Am Army” I knew something:
from the Kuwaiti:” My Country is FREE today because of America”
from the Iranian:” And SOMEDAY, because of what America is doing in Iraq, MAYBE MY COUNTRY WILL BE FREE”

Merry Christmas, TomGuy. And Merry Christmas to all.

I’m here with men who are into sports and I am taking a break in my room after fixing dinner. I made lamb kabob on the grill.

I will rejoin the guys when they whip up the velvet hammers. (Ice cream and whiskey milkshakes with nutmeg on top.) That should be around 9:30. I am going to make everyone sing a Christmas song like I do to them every Christmas eve. :)

How about a Chuckle:

Dave Barry, Christmas Shopping
In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it ‘Christmas’ and went to church; the Jews called it ‘Hanukka’ and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say ‘Merry Christmas!’ or ‘Happy Hanukka!’ or (to the atheists) ‘Look out for the wall!’

Merry Christmas to you too!! Years ago, when I was actively researching the Civil War, I traveled through Tennessee visiting several of the battlefields. Even made it to Fort Pillow. Tennessee is a very pretty State.

It takes time for folks to learn the Lord. I still have difficulty but continue on. I love the folks in my life and will protect them to the end.

There are times where I am alone and don’t want to be, I asked for it.

Life is a bit more than a box of chocolates, Sometimes there is no box at all. I want every FReeper reading this to know that the box of chocolates should come from you.
