I think the thing she is missing is PUBERTY!
She is WAY too young for the majority of the songs...she is immature...YES she has pipes...but NO, this is not the best venue for this kid...maybe Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm....but not here!
The thing with Jess is that she has no personality when singing.

She doesn’t smile, she doesn’t have the demeanor of an “entertainer”, she’s not loose, she doesn’t move around....even she just said she doesn’t dance on stage and it was obvious.
She’s got a great set of pipes. She’s not yet a performer in most of the sense of the word.

You know, you are probably right. At 16 she hasn’t had her heart smashed in a million pieces or similar experience to put into her voice.
Joshua’s good. Compare how he performs to Jessica, if that might make my assertion about Jessica’s morbid entertaining skills.
The only problem with Joshua, he’s all over the place. At times he sings some songs so outrageously it’s more screaming than music.

Joshua’s parents told an interviewer (can’t recall who) that since Josh was the baby of the family, everyone was carrying him in their arms until he was about 2 years old and he didn’t learn to walk until then.
The same thing was said about Scott Peterson by his parents during his trial for the murder of Laci Peterson.
