Boston Bruins all-world netminder Tim Thomas ignited a political firestorm and drew a barrage of verbal slapshots from furious Democrats when he brazenly snubbed President Obama by skipping the teams Stanley Cup garden party at the White House yesterday.
My advice to him is to stick to hockey, said Phil Johnston, a top state Democrat who served under President Clinton. I think Bruins players are taken seriously for their hockey, not for their politics.

Senator Tim Thomas (R-MA). Has a nice ring to it.
This is burning up that airwaves on talk radio in Boston. The liberals on 96.9 FM were aghast at this insult to the president. Of course, there was no similar outcry when the general manager of the Red Sox (Theo Epstein; now with the Cubs) would not go to the White House after the Sox won the world series. Yes, George W. Bush was president then...
Bravo Tim!
Besides politics, why would Thomas want to listen to someone read words from a teleprompter about a team and sport he knows nothing about?
As I said on another thread, if the Bostonians no longer want Timmy on their team, trade him to my Blue Jackets any day. We will gladly take him!
What law is there that champions of every sport have to meet the President? Especially teams where the majority of players aren’t even American citizens?
It did not take them long, did it?
Our National Socialist Democrat Party expects anyone they want to use as a political prop to behave as did the “grieving” North Koreans bewailing the dear departed leader. The democrat party expects all who are summoned to bow and pay homage to der Fuehrer and his minions or pay severe consequences.
FUBO & FAD
0bama wants his picture taken next to winners. 0bama is a loser.
I don't know, but whomever checked him into the boards shouuld get a medal!
After calling him a moron. One poster on Facebook suggested the Bruins bench Thomas for a few games.
Just what I was thinking...
He was in Kraft’s box during the Pats/Broncos game and looked his normal, hang-dog self...
I’m thinking the knife, too.
The facebook poster should be told that after the republican president takes office that he and all democrats will be summoned to the WH and will be required to pay homage and swear an oath of fealty to the president or face loss of job or other assets.
Nazi socialist bastards, all of them.
I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. This is being done at the Executive, Legislative and Judicial levels. This is direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal Government. Because I believe this, today I exercised by right as a free citizen and did not vist the White House. Tim Thomas 2012
Stick to hockey, Tim, Obama does.
I suppose this moron also tells Babs Streisand, Whoopi Goldberg, Tim Robbins, et al to shut up and act...
Ya know, I don’t really care if he had plastic surgery - whatever - but the fact that he felt the need to issue this obviously phony macho cover story really gets me.
For one thing, it shows once again how stupid he thinks we are. I mean, if he broke his nose, why is the area around his EYES the part that’s bruised and his nose looks fine?
In fact, he has no bandages around his nose either. How many people walk around that soon after breaking their nose with not a sign of any problem whatsoever on the NOSE itself?
Insulting!
Way to go Tim Thomas. Going to Obama’s White House is no honor.
We should email this Phil Johnston and those Obama-loving ‘tards at ESPN and tell them to leave Thomas the hell alone. He has rights whether they like it or not.
No one complains about the athletes who pimp for Obama.
Exactly - but what is really amazing is that the home of Harvard, etc., these supposed wizards of Yankee smarts in MA keep reelecting the guy...a man of NO honor!
Barnum was RIGHT!
