Is this why Sandra Fluke went public?

Prior to her statements to congressional Democrats, did Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke have any prior connection to Obama administration officials?

Did the congresswomen who pushed Fluke’s testimony coordinate with a marketing and polling outfit that recently conducted a survey to determine whether contraception mandates can become a possible presidential election issue?

According to some reports, it was Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., who pushed for Fluke’s testimony. Maloney also initiated the call for Fluke to sue Rush Limbaugh for his on-air derogatory remark about Fluke, according to the Daily Beast.

Maloney is tied to a progressive pollster, Celinda Lake, who recently ran extensive polling in an effort to gauge voters’ reactions to including birth control or contraception in insurance coverage.

Lake heads Lake Research, which lists both Maloney and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as recent clients.

During the hearing, Maloney thanked Pelosi “for bringing Sandra (Fluke) to this hearing and for your commitment to these issues that are so important to tens of millions of women and men across our country.”

In a Politico article two weeks ago titled “2012: The year of ‘birth control moms’?” Lake was quoted .......

We should have been paying attention to the fact that “women’s groups” have been slow-rolling insurance companies over these issues for nearly a decade. Most female-oriented procedures (pap smears, mammograms, etc.) are now fully covered with no co-pays, because when the insurers resisted they were demonized and villified as “anti-woman”. More liberal states passed laws to compel them. The Dems therefore had a long track record of making this successful.

Let her sue Rush for libel

Won't happen for one simple reason.....discovery.

Truth is a defense for libel, so Rush's lawyers would gain the right to hold a virtual Spanish Inquisition on her sexual history. Plus they will certainly argue that she is a "public figure" for purposes of libel law, which will bring to light all of her public statements and activities in the past.

No, Sandra Fluke is going to quietly fade into the background, get her law degree, and then suddenly appear as a highly paid operative within the Democrat Party.

Oh, she’d be a real jerk to sue for libel. Still, it would be fun - just think of the discovery. She won’t do it, I’m sure. (She’s probably gay anyway and is lying about all of this.)

OH! OK, thanks for the information! I was living there when Caroline McCarthy got her unfortunate start, but not when Carolyn got into the lefty heirarchy. Thanks for the correction.

For something like $1000 - $1400 she could buy an assault rifle to keep anybody with intentions of getting her knocked up away.....

Answer to the question filled article.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/sandra-fluke-says-she-expected-criticism-not-personal-attacks-over-contraception-issue/2012/03/03/gIQAJq1UpR_story_1.html

“In early February, Fluke — who said she is Protestant — joined students from other universities for a news conference about birth control coverage at Catholic institutions. That appearance caught the eye of staff members working for Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, who asked her to testify at a hearing on Feb. 16.”

Did this woman (Fluke) actually say something about $3000/year on birth control? I’ve heard that but it doesn’t seem plausible given what that stuff goes for at Walmart...

You can get generic birth control for $5/month, or $60/year. But there are other options, still under patent, that are much more expnsinve. Some of these could certainly run $1000/year or more.

And, of course, Obamacare mandates that any FDA-approved contraception be paid for, in full, regardless of price. If these options cost $1000/year now, just think how expensive they will be after Uncle Sugar is picking up the tab for everybody.

Oh, silly me... They'll be FREE! What was I thinking!

The left has lost the abortion issue, so now they’re trying to morph it into a debate about birth control.

They’re hunting for an issue to energize the base because there’s nothing about Barry’s record that he can run on. Getting women to buy the lie that Conservatives are out to deny them birth control is the left’s latest deception.

It just happens that some stupid lefty wench chose a Georgetown activist slut to be the face of their cause.

Another post today revealed $9 for a month's supply at a Walmart just 3 blocks from the college. As I said the whole thing is a sham!
