Actually, IIRC this online Pravda.ru is not affiliated with the dead-tree Pravda of old, which was a propaganda organ for the State.

Anyone have any info on such?

As far as I know, the old Pravda died for real. This is more or less a resurrection, and has several mirror sites in other languages, so they have a translation department as well. I do not know if this Pravda has access to those old archives or not, but this is not a government run site.

Certainly the editorial process is a LOT kinder than what you can expect in the US. By a large margin too.
