WSJ ^ | March 11, 2012, 12:17 PM | Gary Fields

In some of his strongest language about the role of the U.S. in Afghanistan, Mr. Gingrich said on “Fox News Sunday” he had reached the conclusion “frankly about the entire region that is much more pessimistic than Washington’s official position.”

I agree. Also, this should bring him more votes since most of the people are against the wars.

I’m not sure that’s true.

Gingrich seems to have taken the mantle of Palin supporters.

Back when Perry and Palin appeared likely to be running against each other in the primary, I read a lot of Perry supporters say that sort of thing. Accusing Palin supporters of having a double standard.

Admitting my bias then yes, but I didn’t really see a double standard.

I saw a little bit of that, but then a disproportionate amount of crying foul, to try to paint Palin supporters as meanies.

I like Santorum, especially his focus on American trade. But I’m not sure he’d be pounced on.

Though this election I’ve seemed to have been 100% wrong about everything I’ve supported since day one, so maybe you’re right.

:D

It’s time this country woke up. If muslims don’t have our precious children to kill, they will just kill each other. Look at Syria.

Newt is absolutely correct. Bring our military home from all muslim hell holes. They won’t miss us. They’ll kill each other. The first sacrament of their religion is murder! They stone and behead their own wives and children.

Why, in God’s name, are we protecting any of these people from their own kind?

“Under Obama it is a grave danger to be on foreign soil in anything resembling a military action.”

Right. And besides that, we no are no longer serious about destroying the Taliban. So why do we keep hanging around waiting for another soldier to go “offend” Muslims or just go beserk ?

At this point. the place to use troops to protect our National security is on our own southern border.

If any strike/terror is plotted or launched from their soil, glass them. Enough.

"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit"

Or treat the Middle East like from "Escape from New York" -

"Computer Voice: Attention. You are now entering the Debarkation Area. No talking. No smoking. Follow the orange line to the Processing Area. The next scheduled departure to the prison is in two hours. You now have the option to terminate and be cremated on the premises. If you elect this option, notify the Duty Sergeant in your Processing Area."

Afghanastan needs to be sterilized. We need to drop one nuetron bomb every twenty miles of that area to be totally free from future problems.

The only terrorist that would survive would be in their tunnels and hiding in Pakistan.

Let's get out of Afghanistan NOW and expel from USA all the Afghans who came here over the years. Leave the b...s kill each other in their backward forsaken country.

It's about time a mainstream called for an outright withdraw.

We should have left by the summer of 2002 after the Taliban had been deposed and 10,000 or so of them were dead.

We have absolutely no strategic interests there. None. They have no resources accessible by sea and we already have a place to stage an Army on Iran's border.

No interests there. None.

We are already trying to figure out how to give it back to the Taliban. Let them have it.

Illinois, Newt wading right into the belly of the beast!

I was delighted to watch the post of his speech in Dothan, Al. and that he had been endorsed by the guy who owns Bass Pro Shops. I think that the endorsement of folks like that has a more positive influence than political endorsements.

I know you will keep us apprised of any new polls. Thsnks so much!

I'm with Newt. Pull out and let the turban heads kill each other. And if they move out of step and we are attacked again, turn Afghanistan to a pile of sand.

I wouldn't have disagreed with anyone speaking up for our troops. We don't have a Commander in Chief now.

As a mom of a fallen hero, my heart bleeds for the men and women still in the battle who must feel such great dispair at the lack of leadership and support.

I am not trying to argue either side of why, why not, or how our leaders could have mounted a WWII style objective, vis-a-vis Afghanistan. My only argument is that that is what it would have taken to not be in the position we are in today - neither failing outright or succeeding outright.

Thanks for your take on Ohio. Rick lost by 7-10,000 votes, depedding on what you read. Last time I think Huckabee and McCain colluded to stop Romney (in WVa?). Why do GOP voters support him? It can’t be all money. Of course we need an R for Supreme Court and other judge nominees, but otherwise Mitt is luke warm on all our issues (Healthcare, abortion, Immigration, support for military, downsizing EPA and the rest of Gubmint, etc

My youngest brother, who looks like Chuck Norris, Lives to Hunt and Fish. He and his three sons have done some pro fishing videos. I tell him that when I get insomnia, I just pop one of them in the player!

That particular brother, whom we call the “Zen Master”, has also taken 3 Boone and Crockett deer with a bow.

I envy him his abiltiy to absorb himself so fully in something that takes him away from the stress of life for a while. BTW, he’s a Newtster, too.
