Hume basically said that Gingrich likes to hear himself talk.

You call that an attack. I call it the plain truth. Newt's presence just make's Romney inevitable.

It’s time to focus on reality and on getting this trash heap out of DC and on trying to restore some semblance of sanity to this Republic.

I think having all three still in the race is an advantage as Obama doesn't have anyone to target in on. It keeps him off his game and off the attack.

obama can't run on his record so he has to attack our candidate. Why should we give him several more months to do that? As it stands, he can't go after anyone yet.

I think “as he sees it”, which is the norm for most of the journalists

I really miss him on FOX News, he along with Tony Snow and Tony Blankley, Barbara Olsen (RIP all) and Bill Sammons, among others, were level-headed and astute commentators during the Bush-alGor 2000 debacle

There was no “vicious attack” on Newt last night, no emotion, just an assessment that Newt was not gonna win, was NOT gonna be the VP, and was in the campaign now for public speaking opportunities

Fox and Friends were terrible this morning against Newt, Steve Doocy’s facial expressions were ridiculous.

See no relation between your post and the question of why Brit is so angry at Newt.

And while I am a Newt fan this post was just nuts

Thank you for your opinion. He may make blunders, but he still seems to get more votes. I guess it beats being a pompous bloviator.

But I disagree with Brit analysis that Newt is staying in the race to “hear himself talk”

I do, too. I'm voting for Newt. But it doesn't annoy me like it does some here when a pundit disagrees with me. For years, in the eighties and nineties, Hume was the only openly conservative correspondent on ABCCBSNBC. I still respect him.

The Gingrich voters generally do not like Santorum, or they would be voting for Santorum. People just assume that the Newt voters would go Santorum, and that just isn’t true. Might also add, the voters who support Newt Gingrich are not looking for just anyone who can beat Obama, they are looking for experience, depth, and intelligience, which of course, just happens to be what is needed to beat Obama.

Indeed. That's why so many regular people hold them in such low regard. they're just romney voters in sheep's clothing...doing romney's work. Thanks for supporting my conclusions.

You including this guy in your criticism of us Gingrich supporters?

My analysis says Newt is the best man for the job. All others should bow out!!
