GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMY’S PLACE!

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

There is a blue moon for this year, scheduled in late August.

GREAT!! Do you have the date in August? If I don’t put in on my calendar, I will probably miss it. :(

Well, to get a blue moon, you have to have a full moon early in the calendar month, in this case August 2, 2012 in order to squeeze yet another full moon into the same month with the moon's orbit of 28 days.

So the second full moon within one calendar month (a blue moon), will occur on August 31, 2012.

The last one I remember was in December of 'ought eight, I believe.

And then there's this: ("When is the next Blue Moon")

The idea of a Blue Moon as the second full moon in a month stemmed from the March 1946 issue of Sky and Telescope magazine, which contained an article called “Once in a Blue Moon” by James Hugh Pruett. Pruett was using a 1937 Maine Farmer’s Almanac, but he simplified the definition. He wrote: “Seven times in 19 years there were — and still are — 13 full moons in a year. This gives 11 months with one full moon each and one with two. This second in a month, so I interpret it, was called Blue Moon.”

EarthSky’s Deborah Byrd happened upon a copy of this old 1946 issue of Sky and Telescope in the stacks of the Peridier Library at the University of Texas Astronomy Department in the late 1970s. Afterward, she began using the term Blue Moon to describe the second full moon in a calendar month on the radio. Later, this definition of Blue Moon was also popularized by a book for children by Margot McLoon-Basta and Alice Sigel, called “Kids’ World Almanac of Records and Facts,” published in New York by World Almanac Publications, in 1985. The second-full-moon-in-a-month definition was also used in the board game Trivial Pursuit.

Best be praying hard, I just stirred up a hornets nest with my ‘former’ still TN State Sen via email over this medical situation. My dem one is not worth spit and I won’t claim him as my senator.

He has my email addy and cell number and knows I fight dirty, as he has been a big help in my doing so. He is the LT GOV (R) right hand man. Gov is an R too. TN is now R controlled at state level.

Dean is still on for Wed for gall bladder surgery, I issued strict orders it was NOT to be canceled, he balked, blustered, and like a loving husband gave in when I told him I could not take of a sick me and sick him too.

Skin fold infection has gone rogue again, but worse than before. I have not let Dean know how bad it has gotten, though he has seen it, he just has never dealt with something like this before and is not aware how critical it has become. It is starting to begin to turn sour. I can hold out a couple more days, but that is all before it does go sour. I photo documented it all.

His BP will not tolerate what I have done and he will be upset over it.

Who Gets The Credit?

April 17, 2012

I’ve always been puzzled by the nursery rhyme “Little Jack Horner”: Little Jack Horner sat in the corner, eating a Christmas pie; he put in his thumb, and pulled out a plum, and said, “What a good boy am I!”

It seems rather odd that Jack is sitting in the corner with his plum- covered thumb held high, and saying, “What a good boy am I!” It’s usually bad boys who are sent to the corner for punishment. It seems he’s trying to draw unwarranted attention to himself and is wanting credit for the pie.

We naturally want to draw attention to ourselves, to show off our accomplishments and abilities. Sometimes we think that life is all about us. But living like that is self-delusion at its worst. In reality, our sinfulness has put us “in the corner,” from God’s point of view. Thankfully, Paul’s testimony gives us the right perspective. In spite of his impressive credentials, he gladly surrendered to the supremacy of Jesus: “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ” (Phil. 3:7). Paul admitted that in order to “gain Christ” (v.8), he had to lay all of his trophies down.

So, give Jesus Christ the braggin’ rights of your life. Or, as Paul put it, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Cor. 1:31)—not in yourself!

Lord, You are the One who is high and lofty.
I give myself today to the purpose of pointing
others to You, for who You are and what You do.
You deserve all praise.
We are nothing without Jesus, so give Him the credit.

To capture the beauty of flowers is extraordinaire. After all they are the creation of God, and they are or were a live plant. It is life that gives them the luminance of beauty that takes our breath away..The subtlety in a rose is truly indescribable nor captured. It is God's painting.

We often do not take notice of this amazing phenomenon ... Tried my hand at painting years ago. Truly loved doing it, only I was not able to produce what I desired to see on the canvas. It is usually an acquired ability ... with talent on loan from God.

Some develop their own style which we admire and are willing to pay high prices for. the rest of us get prints, and are glad to have them, or I am.
