The animals ate the pineapple because they were afraid it was going to spill the beans!

In the first version of the story, the hare is obviously the wisest because he wins a ninja and a lifetime’s supply of toothpaste and all he has to do is beat an immobile pineapple.

And the animals ate the pineapple because they were waiting around for two hours when the pineapple could have simply forfeited. So they were hungry. Plus, Pineapples are for eating.

In the second version of the story, the hare is still the wisest because he still wins the race and even the owl who’s finally turned up doesn’t display wisdom so much as a keen sense of observation. And all the other animals think the pineapple is trying to trick them and they end up tricking themselves. Which is the opposite of wise. It is foolish.

And the animals eat the pineapple for the same reason I gave in the first version.

The long sobs of the violins of autumn wound my heart with a monotonous langour.

you know, Duke, I had one of those once, but the wheels fell off.

It was right after my beeper got totally stuned. Might there be a connection, or was it the shower I took?

Apparently, the only thing public schools do well these days is teach the anklebiters to sing adoring songs about Øbama.

Races, winning & losing all are elections. The animals represent countries. The pineapple represents third world/socialist countries. There is no need for elections. These countries are already ahead of the rest of the world because the pineapple is in front of the finish line. I think Castro wrote this mess.

Clearly the differently-abled pineapple is a victim of class oppression and it is the duty of the state to see that social justice is served by declaring him the posthumous victor, confiscating the year's supply of toothpaste for redistribution, and executing the rabbit as an enemy of the people.

Why yes, I am hoping for a senior position in the second 0bama administration. Why do you ask?

1. Why did the animals eat the pineapple?
a. they were annoyed

They should have eaten crow, who hoodwinked them into betting heavily on the pineapple (who was in on the scam), but he literally took off with the winnings and w/o his fruity confederate. So they took it out on the poor pineapple...

2. Who is the wisest?
d. owl

Owls are naturally wise anyway, and this one (not mentioned) lost no money, wasted no time, did not become a marked bird, did not get eaten and probably just stayed home & slept.

Where will the Havanese fit in the second Obama administration?

If you cannot answer this, you are doomed to forever inhabit a FEMA camp!

Here’s the biggest whopper of the whole article:

..”But it has nothing to do with me. I cashed the check they sent me after about 8 months, and took my wife out to lunch at a cheap restaurant. I believe, she ordered eggplant.”

There is no such thing as cheap eggplant, at home OR in a restaurant.

This is a racist question! The original eggplant (Italian Mulignan) is derogatory to African-Americans. Changing it to a pineapple is an obvious slur of our Hawaiian born President.
