There have been all kinds of reasons given for the increasing number of home runs in baseball over the decades including more tightly-sewn balls, steroids, improved fitness training programs, and bat technology.
On Saturday, renowned Fox sportscaster Tim McCarver blamed it all on Al Gore's favorite money-making scam.
"It has not been proven, but I think ultimately it will be proven that the air is thinner now, there have been climactic changes over the last 50 years in the world, and I think thats one of the reasons balls are carrying much better now than I remember," McCarver said during Saturday's game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals.
He then commented about some recent shots that went further than he would have expected leading his co-announcer Joe Buck to marvelously ask, So thats your inconvenient truth about Major League Baseball?
"Well," the former catcher responded, "I think theyre going to find that out one of these days, yes I do."
"Thats a theory," he continued, "but well see."
So now you can't even turn on a baseball game without being propagandized on this issue.
Heaven help us.
Nah! It couldn’t be steroids or all these new Little League fields (i.e Citizens Bank Park) they play on now it, so it must be Global Warming
Though the world has been starting to cool over the last 5 years and Home Runs having been trending down, so hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
McCarver’s biographies give ample evidence of physical prowess, but also indicate that he is a mental lightweight. He should stick to sports and leave the important things up to people smarter than he is—which probably includes most of us.
It’s time for another park for Tim- The dog track!

Tim’s an idiot. He should stick to baseball.
He’s not even that smart when it comes to baseball.
The cuckoo bird comes out thirteen times to cuckoo on that one.
Just kidding....go Angels!!
This is strange because I’ve been wondering lately if Taco Bell’s new Doritos® Locos Tacos might have something to do with it.
Global warming hasn’t helped Albert Pujols.
What global warming? Temperatures haven’t increased in 20 years?
Manager comes to the mound and looks at pitcher who has just given up a homer. Pitcher says if it just wasn’t for that Global Warming it would have stayed in the park.
Sounds like is ‘writer’ must have been having a bad day....
Where is Dion Sanders to take care of McCarver when you need him? ;-)

I never knew McCraver was such a dumb ass....
It’s the work of baseball pixies.
