'May Day' protests turn violent in Downtown Seattle

SEATTLE -- Some May Day protestors are running rampant in Downtown Seattle, smashing windows at businesses and cars as they marched through city streets Tuesday afternoon.

Video from Air 4 has shown smashed windows at a Wells Fargo, a Downtown Federal Courthouse, and Niketown, among others.

KOMO News reporter Joel Moreno says he and his photographer had been hit with a paint bomb while covering the march and ensuing riot.

He says about 50 people clad in all black outfits were throwing paint at buildings and cars, marking the anarchist symbols, "but there were certainly others not dressed in black participating in criminal behavior."

The march itself began with about 200 people and then the group in black inserted itself into the middle of the parade body.

"They wasted no time," Moreno said. "They went about two blocks before they started damaging property."

Moreno said that's when he was hit with a paint bomb. But up ahead he started hearing glass shatter.

"We turned the corner and saw large storefronts at Wells Fargo smashed in," he said. "We saw a firebomb of some sort at the U.S. Court of Appeals where they went in and bashed the windows." Moreno said it looks like a firebomb was lobbed inside: "We saw smoke coming from inside the windows."

As protestors smashed windows at Niketown, store owners at nearby American Eagle store blocked their doors while customers were still inside in an effort to keep rioters out.

Police were using pepper spray, said a Seattlepi.com photographer who was caught in a melee.

There are no word on the number of any arrests.

If I were ever in a situation as this, there would be all size of lead flying. But that’s just me...that’s how I roll.

This is from Oakland...didn’t see a thread for that one.

For some reason I can’t put a link to the pic. It won’t work.

My comment to the bozos would be. Ya think they’re just gonna let people destroy property and do nothing?

Walked by these clowns in NYC today and a cop said “You know it’s bad when the white people are this close to rioting.”

I’ll say it.

Police in riot gear armed with tasters, nightsticks, pepper spray and flex cuffs should line up shoulder to shoulder and clear the streets. Anyone doing anything illegal should be tased, sprayed, cuffed, stepped over, and advanced beyond to the next line of protestors.

Trucks coming up behind should load the cuffed people, they should be detained in compounds until booked, tried on a fast track, and forced to live in primitive camps that don’t have television or nice lounges.

Screw this. I am sick of lawlessness.

There was a jerk on FR who asked how I would like it if those standards were applied to the Freepers demonstrating outside “Cheney’s House”.

I said there was a not so minor difference: when asked to disperse...they did. And they weren’t destroying property. And they weren’t breaking the law.

One of these OWers will likely be the future Democrat President of the US.

He just arrived, only about 5 minutes later than usual. I guess he did get out a little early from work.

Agent(cops)provocateurs? Wouldn’t surprise me if the rioters are anarchists and commies. Wouldn’t surprise me if the ones doing the damage are undercover cops, either.

Rioters and looters should be shot down like rabid dogs and their bodies left to rot in the streets.

God’s way?

I sure wouldn’t hesitate if they came after my business or store. The barrels on my 12 ga’s Remy 1187 & 870 would be glowing white hot.

Good grief. Another ‘who can jack their junk the most’ contest.

"These little shits took out a window of my business...."

I'm down on the Rockies and had just driven slowly by an unemployed public school teacher's house, when the back window shattered on my vehicle. There was a popping noise loud enough to dim hearing for a little while (quite a bit of energy hitting that glass). There were no other people within several miles at the time.

Haven't had much to do with her beyond a wave and a howdy a few times, but she did express some commie sentiments in an angry tone once. Don't go by there much.

And nothing could legally be done about it. The round bounced off of the glass (oblique impact, probably a pistol round at about 200 yards or so). Besides, she's a real suckup to other local commies with more cash flow (radical animal worshipers and environmentalists with pensions, government jobs, etc.).

The answer is to keep cool, until they're all without incomes (see bond collapse ahead), foreclosed against and gone. Many in our middle class are criminal now.

Might be some insight there on the lack of police action in Seattle (influence of local government interests and their rotten offspring).

No *jacking* on the Remy 1887; it’s an 8+1 auto-loader. The 870 requires some ‘elbow grease’, but is a real smooth pleasure to operate, cp.

That was today also, BTW—within the past few hours during a trip to the nearest distant town.
