It's difficult to find quality entertainment on Netflix streaming. Here's three Tom Selleck movies that, in my opinion, qualify: Jesse Stone, Night Passage / Jesse Stone - Stone Cold / Jesse Stone - Death in Paradise. Great entertainment, no PC agenda.
I'm about there myself, I glanced at Hulu Premium the other day. Looked like slightly better content, or at least different content.
agreed. netflix streaming is pretty much a waste of time. rarely, if ever, is there a movie you really want to watch. seems like they only stream the loser movies no one wants.
I wish Spenser For Hire was out on DVD. I loved that show.
I started to watch Portlandia. It was too painfully close to the depressing truth about West Coast culture.
I’ve watched Jesse Stone, the old Magnum PI TV shows, Sherlock Holmes series from the 80s, I like the British TV shows. I wish Netflix had more shows from the 80s. Remember The Equalizer?

I'm going through the entire series of "Lie to Me" right now. After that, I'll probably be finished with Netflix.
I think Jeremy Brett did the best Sherlock Holmes. Never saw The Equalizer, and of course, it’s not on Netflix.
They run on the Hallmark Movie Channel as part of their Mystery series. But there are only 3 movies. They are a little dark, but I’d surely like to see another episode.
I’ll look for that — “Benefit of the Doubt”. I always miss everything that is on the regular stations because I never watch them. I’m either on Fox News, Fox Business, or Hallmark 2/7. But I never even scroll through the TV Guide for ABCNBCCBS to see what’s playing.
From the two or three books I've read, I prefer the calls to having his ex sleeping around Boston (and with Stone) as a tv weather girl.
I like how we support good guy Tom Selleck rather than giving liberals free press. This thread is magnificent! Go Tom, Blue Bloods, and Jesse Stone.
I named my dog after Jesse Stone.
BTW, watched "War Horse" this morning. Outstanding. One of the key scenes, where a boy gets the horse to pull a plow and plow a field, was shot with an actor (and a few bystanders), a horse, and a field. And it was incredibly touching. But the cavalry charge against the German camp was great, too.
The Selleck Jesse Stone shows are by far my favorite detective videos. Like the books too. Fortunately, Parker didn’t have time to turn the Stone books into what he did with the Spencer series towards the end. The last few were preachy screeds extolling promiscuity, homosexuality, and minority superiority.
It is for similar reasons that I have now decided to no longer buy Lee Child’s books. I am reading “The Affair” now. And it will be my last. They have descended into all having the same plot: wonderful (usually flawless, always oppressed) minority people need Reacher’s help to overcome rancid, ignorant middle-class Americans who stupidly cling to their guns and Bibles. And, of course, every woman in each book (except for Neagley — do far) can’t keep her hands (and other body parts) off of Reacher — which is fine by Child who makes clear he is pro-promiscuity and abortion (should the promiscuity produce an unwanted offspring).
I am now turning my attention to Robert Crais, whose Joe Pike character doesn’t impose his leftwing politics on us. He just kills bad guys.
Been watching Murder She Wrote, which I never watched when it was originally on. I'm also re-watching Dark Shadows, although the beginning episodes (prior to Barnabas) haven't made it to live streaming yet. I'm assuming they are coming though, because they used to offer these episodes via disc, but now those aren't even available. They did the same thing with McMillan and wife. I had begun to get those discs, but then they were no longer available. I recently discovered they'd been put on live-streaming, and have been watching them.
Some series that I've enjoyed from Netflix, but aren't available on live-streaming are "Wallandar" starring Kenneth Branagh. Netflix has Season 1, but not season 2 yet. They are presently filming season 3.
Also, a British detective production titled: Jonathan Creek. Seasons 1-4 are available.
Blue Murder is another British detective series starring Caroline Quentin, who also starred in the Jonathan Creek series. There's four seasons in this series. Part is offered on live-streaming, the rest on DVD.
If you like period productions, Garrow's Law is a good series. It's about an 18th Century barrister. Stories are based on the real cases of William Garrow. There are three seasons of this series. The first two are available via disc on Netflix.
I haven’t read Childs’ latest .... bummer that he’s going down that route. Haven’t read much Crais, but what I’ve read, I like. :-)

The Perry Mason are ALL great. ALL OF THEM. He never jumped the shark. There’s one about a NUN or Catholic Sister you should start with. If you don’t like them, I’ll ask God to give you the 90 minutes back someday.
