Just caught Bob answering a question on the recent "Are you better off than you were four years ago poll." His answer went something like this:
"Look, four years ago was June, 2000. In June, 2000, the economy was doing well."
Not remembering what year it is might be a sign to cut out the martini breakfasts, Bob!
Alan Colmes has shown himself to be particularly vile... his making that comment about Rick Santorum’s dead child, then smugly sitting back smiling — absolutely inexcusable.
I have heard him say he is a recovering drunk and drug user. But it could be he fell off the wagon....

I wish! Ever since 2008, I’ve wished there actually was a product like “Hibernol” from the old SNL skit, so I could take it and hibernate until Obama’s gone.
He also said that the primary question that people should ask is “are you better off now than you were 4 years ago” and his answer to that question was Yes. He claimed that obama’s only problem is that he is not doing a good job selling that part of the message to the public...

Beckel lives the American dream. Lose on a 49 state landslide and become relevant as and analyst.
Beckel’s positions are indefensible. He makes the 6 nearly unwatchable.....nearly. He is, in fact, clear proof that both/all sides of an argument are heard on Fox News.
He performs his role as an exemplar of general socialist/liberal thinking magnificently. While watching his performances, one gets the opportunity to hear an impassioned argument from the socialist point of view, and formulate a concise counter argument....without the temptation of putting a fist through the face of the person one might be debating face to face (thus staying out of the hoosgow).
As to his drinking, doubt it. Too self righteous, even for a dhimmbocrat.
Fat, drunk, stupid, homo, addict, abortionist, liar, ugly, and communist is No way to go through life son!

Beckel is just using the Hussein Calendar. After the Dear Leader’s coronation in January, we will all be required to follow it, well, because the Julian calendar is just so Western Civ, ya’know?
Beckel, like Thomas is in his mid 60s...and probably is starting to fade a bit.

Excuse me, but, while mid-60s may seem ancient to you, but most of us oldsters are not fading mentally. Physically, perhaps but not mentally. My husband is in his late 60s, and he is at the top of his game mentally.
As far as the Christian bit goes, I have seen nothing in Beckel’s nasty comments and demeanor that bespeaks a Christian sensibility.

Unlikely. Beckel has been sober for a long time and tells whomever he runs in to(my friend on an elevator in DC) ..that. Apparently he works a good program and helps others in recovery.
What I can’t stand is the way he talks over the other four and actually thinks that what he has to say is in any way important...rambling mush.
He’s the uncle at Thanksgiving dinner who won’t shut the h*ll up.

We were headed into recession when Bush was running for president in 2000. The media hopped on him saying he would CAUSE a recession by making such statements.
In fall of 2001, the WTC was destroyed, planes were grounded, and plenty of people lost their jobs through no fault of the president. The economy improved under his watch.

I had a cardiac arrest in 2008. As you know, when the heart stops, no oxygen flows to the brain. Without that oxygen, parts of the brain die off. There is a small window of opportunity to revive the victim and minimize the damage. I don't know how long I was clinically dead, but I've noticed that even though I might appear normal, I have problems with my thought processes. For example, my memory fails me or I find I can't formulate a coherent thought or finish a thought once I started.
Now I don't know Beckel’s medical history, other than his alcoholism, but I have heard that over time alcoholics lose certain brain function. This is permanent, even if the alcoholic stops drinking. This may be what has happened to Beckel.
So I'm willing to cut the guy some slack when it comes to those mental lapses.
