GLENDALE (CBS) — One man was arrested after a brawl involving more than 100 people broke out at a wedding in Glendale.

Glendale Police officers were called out to a wedding late Saturday night at a banquet hall called the Dream Palace to calm a fight that broke out among more than 100 people, according to the Glendale News-Press.

Witnesses told police they saw several people wielding knives at the party and one man said he was struck on the lip and hit on the head with a chair, the newspaper reported.

One man, 36-year-old Karpis Termendzyan of Van Nuys, was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and battery after allegedly spitting on one officer and trying to elbow two others, according to the News-Press, and later kicked in a rear window of a patrol car. Termendzyan was released Sunday after posting $20,000 bail.

Another man, 22-year-old Spartak Karabedian of Van Nuys, was detained for public drunkenness and released Sunday. Police believe Karabedian, who is on probation for assault with a deadly weapon, started the fight inside the banquet hall, but details about the brawl remain unclear because partygoers refused to talk to police, the News-Press reported.

Most partygoers refused medical treatment and did not want to press any charges.

If that is the same Spartak Karabedian of Van Nuys, he owns (owned?) a cafe in North Hollywood, where some of his buddies were killed by another of his buddies in April, 2010—but he wasn’t there. He bought it after it closed because of the shootings; he didn’t own it then. That seems to have involved illegal weapons transactions of “assault weapons” with filed off serial numbers. http://northhollywood.patch.com/articles/alleged-hot-spot-cafe-shooter-to-appear-in-van-nuys-courthouse-on-tuesday

If it is the same Spartak Karabedian of Van Nuys, he was also arrested in Glendale last November—occupation listed as “car broker”—for narcotics possession, grand theft by access card fraud, and identity theft. Listed BOB gives the the same age as in this wedding story. http://www.ci.glendale.ca.us/police/Reports/DailyBookingReports/2011/DailyBookingReport_112111.pdf

Yep, saw this article in the local news rag (Glendale News-Press).

Okay everyone. It's time to cut the cake. No, No, NO!!! I said it's time to cut the cake, not each other.

I believe I know what set it off. The DJ was playing “Cut’s like a Knife” by Bryan Adams and the crowd took it literally.

I once went to a nice Sicilian wedding when a couple of fights broke out...lots of bleeding, and when the guys were removed, the band played on, everyone ate, drank and was merry.. It was my sisters wedding....LOL

Her husband, my brother in law was one of the sweetest people you'd ever meet, he had 1 flaw....he was a democrat, but he had some shady family members straight from Sicily... I loved his mother, she ran a numbers game for some family member....

I was the only one she ever gave her Lasagna receipe to...with strich instructions to buy only imported pepperoni and cheeses. Basil had to be fresh...The Lasagna was the best I ever had, and when the neigborhood had pot luck parties, it was the hit of the parties...

It was also the first time I ever heard of putting butter in the sauce, brings out lots of flavors...
