"...he espoused some very liberal ideas in his old age"

I think he was manipulated by the disgusting AARP executives in his older age at a time when his mind was weak.

A talented man and beloved due to his Mayberry character. What a disappointment, though, when he proved to be such a misguided liberal. This never quite made sense. He obviously was not like the common-sense Sheriff Andy in his real life.

RIP Andy and Goober. You were both well loved.

I still love the reruns and will watch them as long as the networks run them. I was raised in a small town in the 50’s and it was a wonderful experience and great memories. Mayberry will always hold a special place in my heart - a cmforting place. Rest in Peace Andy Taylor.

I return AAR’s letters to them (in chopped up form) in their own postage paid envelopes.

When I was a child I loved listening to that album ,,, I remember him saying “,,And I dropped my big orange drink “ ,,, thinking it was so funny .

Somewhere down the line Andy , Ron, and Henry became devout Marxist/ commies and I refused to watch them upon learning of their loyalty to communism .

Postage-paid?

Next time, tape them to a brick, before dropping them in the mail.

What does it matter what a dead 82yo man’s politics were? Why even bring it up?

You need to watch the movie “No Time For Sergeants.” Way better than Mayberry!

I agree! Loved the bar scene with the lighter fluid in the drink!
