Fiscal Year 2009 ran from 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2009.

This was President Bush’s last budget.

He is responsible.

There was no approved budget under Obama as far as I’m aware. They have been operating under CRAs for virtually his entire administrations and HE is responsible for the Trillion Plus deficits each year since then. Add to that the TARP, QEs and all the rest and you have a debt explosion. Add the fact that the Republicans were not in control since 2007.

While Republicans are indeed fiscally irresponsible, the problem is Obama and the Democrats and that’s why I think your post is disingenuous.

No CONGRESS, not the President, sets the Budget. And who ran the Congress in 2008 and 2009? Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosie and the Democrats

So nice try Obamabot but as usual completely divorced for any measure of intellectual honesty

He is responsible.

While you general premise is correct, this point is not, in my opinion. The budget that was passed and signed by Obama was not what Bush requested. It pains me to defend the compassionate conservative, but Obama is mostly responsible for spending in 2009.

None of the 0bama stimulus spending (IIRC totaling ~1.5 trillion) was included in any of Bush’s budgets.

So President Bush is responsible for a trillion dollars of wasted stimulus spending during 2009, while he was sitting in his Texas home? Is he responsible for spending bills and GM takeovers that took place after Obama was inaugerated. Following your logic, he might as well be responsible for 2012 spending too.

Why do so many citizens not know our Constitution? Congress controls the spending, the President carries it out.

No, sir.

This is CONGRESS’ Budget. Lest you forget, the Constitution requires CONGRESS to pass budgets and set spending.

Hmmm...let’s see...who controlled Congress effective Jan. 1 2006?

Oh, and before you go on about a GOP Congress since Jan. 1 2011, I might point out that the House of Representatives has passed a budget, but the Senate has not.

Bush submitted a 2009 budget with $4.7 billion in deficits.

Obama re-worked it and sign off on the adjusted budget four months into the year. The new deficit number was $1.4 TRILLION.

"This was President Bush’s last budget."

Here is a free civics lesson.

Presidents don't write Budgets, Congress do.

Thus endeth the lesson...

Fiscal Year 2009 ran from 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2009.

I don't recall exact figures, but the deficit for that fiscal year was around $1.6 trillion, and included the TARP funding of around $800 billion and then Obama's $870 billion "stimulus" package. The deficit for that fiscal year was a shared responsibility of Bush and Obama.

Bush was a big spender no doubt, but Obama is a spender like no one ever imagined, having trillion dollar plus deficits every year and also trillion dollar deficits in his longer term projections.

That counts TARP which he and the Dems pushed, the GOP Congress voted mostly “no”.

Compared to the Dems, the GOP are penny pinchers and need to get tighter.

You should change your name to Debbie Downer.

Forgot a word:

That counts TARP which he and the Dems pushed, the GOP “IN” Congress voted mostly “no”.

Compared to the Dems, the GOP are penny pinchers and need to get tighter.
