Even in Democratic-heavy Hudson County, voters saying Romney won debate
Jersey Journal ^ | October 4, 2012

President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney went toe-to-toe last night during the presidential debate and the media's consensus is that Romney won.

In today's Jersey Journal poll, "Who won the presidential debate last night?" results are agreeing with the media at the time of this post: Romney is in the lead with 69.59% (6,373 votes) and Obama trailing behind with Obama 30.41% (2,785 votes).

In Journal Square, voters were asked what they thought about the debate last night. Dennis Matthews, 50, a Jersey City resident, said, "He [Obama] didn't do as well as I'd liked, but I don't think he lost." Matthews added, he may be "a little out of touch with debating," saying that the last debate Obama participated in was probably four years ago, but Matthews also said he thought "the moderator didn't keep good control of the debate." Another Obama supporter, Johnny Renta, 43, thought the president was "a little confusing," and that Romney seemed to be more prepared to debate against Obama.

And What would you call white Americans who would vote Romney because he is white? What if 85% or more supported Romney for his race? I can dare to ask these 2 questions.

52% of the people polled in San Francisco said Romney won the debate. Hell has frozen over.

Yeah, but they’ll all still vote for 0bamao.

It’s his ideology they want. 0bamao’s just a figurehead.

the last debate Obama participated in was probably four years ago

So, all of those press conferences where he did not take questions seem to have left BJ without the mojo to "stick it" to Mitt.

I just do not know.
Not so sure they will, just maybe not vote for obama.
Three houses on my block today put up Romney sign this morning, it could be just a coincidence however.

I've been listening to WABC Talk Radio today for Rush and Hannity on and off.

The News Reporters of WABC keep doing "Man in the street" interviews on the News Breaks and amazingly none of those interviewed thought Romney won.

I was driving to my class (a university in Miami) this morning. There were 5-6 Romney/Ryan signs out on the lawns that were not there Tuesday.

When I drove back down that same road about 3 hours later, they had all disappeared. I really don’t think the homeowners came back in the middle of the day and removed them.

(Hint: that road is heavily traveled by university personnel).

I really think the first debate is the game changer. Sort of like sequels to movies - the first one is usually the best. Not as many will tune in to the other 2.

I live in Hudson County, and so does most of my family. If they would have asked any one of us BEFORE the debate we could have told them Romney was going to win.

When you’re a registered Republican in Hudson County people go out of their way not to ask you anything. Or if they do, and they don’t like your answers, nobody will ever see them.

So why do we stay? Well, we like it here, but we’re also NEEDED here.
