Well in honor of finding of a Earth size planet in Alpha Centauri (well I still think there is an Earth like planet there.. Prove me wrong). I thought I show you all a list in how Alpha Centauri has been used in Science Fiction:

The star name (I guess it is a star) which seems to come up more than any other in science fiction is “Rigel”.
I would guess that Mars is the favorite home planet of more sci-fi movies than all others combined. I will never forget seeing “Invaders From Mars” around 1953 or so. I was only six and it had a tremendous impact on me. For maybe 50 years I had images in my head of that movie. I finally saw it again a few years ago and discovered those images were not quite right.
What star system was “Forbidden Planet” supposed to be from?

I'm trying to stick with Fringe and give it the benefit of the doubt but this new treasure hunt of trying to search out VHS tapes that Walter has supposedly scattered around the countryside that will presumably save the world is way over the top.
All he had to do was keep them all together and put them in a hard to find spot and the Fringe team would eventually find them.
As for last week's episode with the people suffering from the fungus amoungus, they know what's causing it so why are they still living there?????/ Idiots!
As a side note, as for Olivia, she's the most attractive but asexual heroine in TV today....Astrid has more sexuality going for her than Olive does........

No Revolution, this monday, just a presidential debate.
Maybe that's a prequel to Revolution.

They are missing my favorite AC author (combination sci-fi/romance) Gini Koch with her Alien series staring Katherine (Kitty) Katt.
Wicked sense of humor, and totally something the this geek girl loves! :-)

I seem to remember seeing something that the Alpha Centauri system has an unstable star periodically throwing off the bad kind of radiation that makes it unsuitable for humans anywhere near the system, let alone on any planets in the system.

I always wondered if the Centauri from B5 came from there. It would make sense since they were the first aliens we encountered. But, why would they call themselves Centauri? That is the Human word for them. Bah, another sci-fi language discrepancy.
I think they are going to start using the Gliese 581 system for sci-fi aliens. They used it in Battleship first, and I am using it in my new book as the home of the first aliens we encounter. It's only 5 LY away, and it has a very Earth-like planet (maybe).
