Mayan Doomsday 'Safe Zone' Shut Down

Citing fears that doomsday believers, curiosity seekers, and "above all" journalists will flood a French mountaintop on Dec. 21, the supposed day of the Mayan apocalypse, local officials are banning access to the mountain.

The spot, Pic de Bugarach, is rumored to be one of the only safe places on the planet on Dec. 21, according to Raw Story. On that date, a major cycle of the Maya Long Count calendar ends. The calendar is split into several chunks, including 400-year spans called b'ak'tuns. Dec. 21, 2012 on our calendar marks the end of the 13th b'ak'tun and the beginning of a new cycle.

One online rumor holds that on this day of destruction, Pic de Bugarach will open up to reveal an alien spacecraft, which will save believers nearby. That has local officials worried. [End of the World? Top Doomsday Fears]

"We are expecting a few visionaries, a few people who believe in this end of the world, but in extremely limited numbers," state official Eric Freysselinard told Raw Story. "We are expecting greater numbers of people who are just curious, but in numbers we cannot determine. Above all, we are expecting lots of journalists."

In response, officials will call in 100 police and firefighters on Dec. 21 to seal off approaches to the mountain, Freysselinard told Raw Story.

Uhm, they’re not extinct. That civilization construct no longer exists but there are, in fact, some 6-7 million Mayan’s still living in Mexico.

When I go to Puerto Aventuras I hire a guy to give me directions as I drive up and down the Mayan Riviera.

Most of the time I have no idea where anything is as there are no major signs, down those manzanita roads, saying where anything is much less a road sign.

Like getting to the Fairmont. Been there plenty of times but can’t remember where to turn.

So this guy goes with me, I see my friends and he waits in the bar sipping a Coke. If it’s lunch, I take care of that for him.

I have his card with my passport. He speaks Mayan, Spanish and English. For some reason a little Greek. I forget why.

When I first met him I thought he was barely out of high school. Turned out he was 30 years old and had a family. Sawed off little midget of a guy and really enjoy his company when I’m down there.

I was going to go with my friends this week but, not in the mood.

Maybe after the 1st. I’d like to hang out with him again(Yes, I know “but you pay him”. No reason not to have fun) and I’ve wanted to meet his family. I’ve met his dad who owns a trinket place.

.
The only thing left for all to quickly fall in place is the change back to the 360 day year, so that all the prophecies counted in “times,” and days work out evenly. Then we will see it all happen.

Did you notice that that Mayan callendar disk ends on the winter solstice?

That is the sole significance of that date. All pagan systems begin their new year on the winter solstice, while God begins his year on the first new moon after the autumnal equinox. And that was also when his son was born.

My only interest was in determining if there was some possibility of a comet, asteroid, group of them or some other object on a cyclical, low periodicity orbit that was behind the changing of their “ages” since the account implies upheaval and disruption.

Equinox and solstice are not necessarily a “pagan” thing merely because they observed them. My own grandparents used the Farmer’s Almanac for planting, cutting and harvesting. They were not “pagan.”

Mayans were. They were, however, also accomplished astronomers. That is why I took note and looked into the matter further, that and various supposed Christian groups apparently validating it.

I have seen no indication that there is a cause for concern at this point, so I am fairly certain that there is no astronomical threat associated with this.

I was just popinting out that the choice of the winter solstice is always pagan, and that God’s calendar uses the Autumnal equinox as a marker to determine which moon begins the new spiritual year.

Presently, that doesn’t quite work right, because we have not yet returned to the 360 day year; that is presently an unknown future event.

God is using the 360 day calender in the old testament, and clearly is using a 360 day calender with how he resolves events that have yet to occur in the book of Revelation.

I honestly don’t believe there’s any reason to assume he’s not using the same accounting of time in between these events,

Without going into any details, I can say, that if you do look at important events and intervals in that manner, it does appear to show interesting structures and patterns that at least have an appearance of being attended too, and that align with his Feast days far into the future,

Our present 365 day orbit has to be changed before the the 360 day prophecies are fulfilled, else how would we “watch?”

Presently, the Lord’s appointed times do not work at all. Judah has attempted to make their calendars to work, but to no avail, they have to be readjusted each year, in approximation.

To me that is a clear indication that we simply have to wait for that condition to be changed before we claim that his coming is immanent.
