Protests greet shoppers at Walmarts nationwide

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Wal-Mart workers and supporters marched in protest at a number of stores nationwide Thursday and Friday, blasting the wages, benefits and treatment of employees of the world's largest retailer.

The efforts seemed to do little to keep shoppers away though — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said it was its best Black Friday ever.

In Paramount, Calif., authorities arrested a small group of protesters Friday outside a Walmart. Elizabeth Brennan of Warehouse Workers United said nine people, including three employees, were arrested shortly after 12 noon for blocking the street outside the store in Paramount. At one point, however, more than 1,000 people blocked traffic outside the store, Sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker told KNBC-TV.

In Lakewood, Colo., shoppers hesitated as they passed dozens of protesters outside a Walmart but entered without incident. Some protesters held signs playing off of the retailing giant's corporate slogan, "Live better," accusing the company of corporate greed and underpaying its workers.

This was a desperate act by the unions and, unsurprisingly, it failed. Walmart is a union-free zone and may that always be so.

Humm, lets see. The union estimated hundreds protested. Meaning 90 percent of the hundreds were bused in. So that leaves maybe 30 Walmart employees nation wide. Walmart has 1.3 milliom employees, so perhaps this is hardly a nationwide event and hardly worth making the news.

Never gone out on Black Friday but today I made an exception to go to Wal-Mart. I just NEEDED a few things.

Bull****! The black Friday shoppers never even saw the few union knuckledraggers who showed up today trying to get in a little overtime. This was a massive fail no matter how hard the tap dancers in Barry Benghazi’s state controlled “media” try to spin it. Another liberal fraud being perpetrated on the American people by the “media”.

Just like with "Occupy" the MSM has the ability to inflate the influence of trivial events to a massive extent.

Private sector unions are in serious trouble, probably close to falling below "critical mass" and this may be a final desperate attempt with the backing of the Baraqqi regime.

The average Wal-Mart employee makes about $11/hr. and has access to benefits. Better than many other retail chains.

“Nationwide?” Really??? Only in the (wet) dreams of the MSM and the unions.

Removal of the Communists (Unions) in the Public Sector would cut DNC "donations" by more than 50%.

Unions RUN our Government now, and the Democrats just keep handing them Taxpayer money, to be sent back to the DNC as "Donations", from the Dues paid initially through tax-bailout-handout-payback funds.

We are SO scrwewed, America.

There were NO protesters in front of the Clarkston, Washington WalMart. I have hope for the inland northwest.

We get more professional panhandlers than that at our local store daily. The only difference is our panhandlers are smarter, harder working, and smell better than these union scum.

That’s what I was wondering.

How do they pay their employees compared to Target or Meiers or Costco or any of their other big box competitors

If they are knocking down doors entering stores they can easy trample protesters.
There has been many deaths in the past due to trampling.

I spent 30 mins debating these idiots here in Placerville. They had a bus here and SEIU, and another union. One guy kept getting in my face saying “ where is your army”, so I squared off a few time and kept telling him “ I’m right here and I’m ready to go”. I hate unions and funny I was not scared. I was just pissed they were in Placerville. I was yelling “go home Placerville doesn’t want you here.” I asked how many lived in Placerville and worked at Walmart. Only 3 hands went up. So out of 100 3 were from this area and worked at walmart.

This was top news on at least one channel in Oklahoma City. I actually know one of these guys. He’s really a smart guy and older than most of the clowns he’s traveling with. Somehow he hasn’t gained any wisdom thru his years, however. I notice no actual Walmart employees dropped their shovels and pitchforks to join their ranks.

Pretty pathetic.
