'DOCTOR Who bosses are lining up Matt Smith’s exit for Christmas — when he will regenerate into the 12th Time Lord.

Insiders say the festive special will be Matt’s last outing as The Doctor, after a triumphant four years in the role.

The actor has made no bones about his ambition to crack Hollywood and has filmed new movie How To Catch A Monster with Ryan Gosling, which is released next year.

Sources say bosses already have an idea of who they want to replace him, with work on the special due to get under way later in the year.

Matt’s contract is understood to expire in November but we understand he doesn’t want it renewed.

Filming on the 50th anniversary episode, airing in November, will begin next month.'

Colin Morgan was a one-time character on Doctor Who. People would love to have him back as a companion.

In case anyone is wondering IF you have the BBC America channel they have been showing a special about each Doctor at the end of each month. I have already seen the specials on "The First Doctor" and "Second Doctor". They tell about the actor and their companions and the show at the time. Then they show an episode from that Doctor. It is interesting to see how different it was at the beginning and the differences of the man who played the role of The Doctor.

The First Doctor special featured The Aztecs. The Second Doctor special featured The Cybermen.

Doctor Donna was my favorite Doctor of the last three. Not my favorite companion, but that short time she was Doctor Donna was brilliant. It also led to the second saddest companion leaving story I’ve seen. How horrible to not remember any of it.

Not my favorite companion, but that short time she was Doctor Donna was brilliant. It also led to the second saddest companion leaving story I’ve seen.

I completely agree that she was great in the sudden role transfer and that her memories being erased for her to survive was a very sad development, but Donna at some point, had already started to grow on me and I came to like her as a companion.

I also liked Martha Jones and wished she had appeared as a straightforward companion rather than going back and forth to Torchwood. I think that is why I didn't care so much for Donna at first, that along with her vacuous babbling.

I hated Donna at the beginning, but the Dr made her strong.

She was just coming into the relationship.
