I went thru all the prep you have. Went to the facility, got into a gown, laid on a bed, they juiced me up. Last thing I remember. Woke up hardly groggy, no mess, no discomfort, no issues.

The stuff you drink is the worst part. I suggest chugging it. It might take about three or four drinks of the stuff, and then the "fun" starts. Your anal region will feel awfully sore when it's all over, so use the gentlest toilet paper. Maybe even think about splashing water and air-drying....I'm series.

The procedure itself should be nothing. When I had it done I was lying on my side as they informed me that they were going to start the drug injection. I then was lying on my back and asking when they were going to start. The head nurse said it was all over. I didn't believe her. But it was all over. From lying on my side waiting for the drugs to start and then lying on my back seemed like a second. But that second was actually two hours. No pain, no sensation whatsoever.

Y’all notice he’s gone incognito. Must be in the BATHROOM. TAKE THE COMPUTER IN THE BATHROOM WITH YOU! “)

I had to go through this. That drink is nasty, and my skin was so raw I couldn’t sit down.

I insisted on those pills, instead of that liquid. I’m a wimp!

I had a colonoscopy a year and a half ago. Negative, thank the Good Lord.

My instructions were to start the prep at noon the day before. Bearing in mind that I wouldn't be able to eat until it was over, I asked the nurse if I could start later. She said, "The process takes about 10 hours to complete. You can start later if you want but you'll be up later and we hope you'll get a good night's sleep before the procedure." She was right. I was finally empty by 11pm.

The friend who drove me and I stopped at Golden Corral on the way home. Damn I was hungry :)

Don't roam far from the head, Shipmate! The good news is that it's all downhill from here - the procedure is no big deal - the prep is the hard part.

Where are the survivors of the massacre at Benghazi? The silence of the Obama Regime on this question is deafening!

That is absolutely hilarious! I had read it some time back. I mentioned it to the butt Dr. and he said he’d never read it. I took him a copy the day of the procedure.

For me, the worst part was the fact that I get really bad migraines with nausea if I skip meals. About two a.m. I took the final prep. About ten minutes later, I was vomiting and doing the other thing as well as having massive migraine pain. Not pleasant. In any way. Long night, was never so happy to be knocked out.

Use a straw to drink it. It’ll avoid the taste buds.

The nurse wouldn’t release me until I had farted. The first time I have ever been ordered to pass gas.

Thus commanded, I went “KA-BLOOIE!!” & the recovery room nearly burst into applause.

Watch the Dave Barry vid with his proctologist. It helps.

Good luck!

Prayer that those fingers are from a small, slim man.

When the under-40 set finds out I am getting a prostate check or a colonoscopy and finishes getting their laughs at my expense, I suggest that they may want to consider changing their doctor to the most petite Filipina MD they can find. The initial looks of bafflement are payback enough for being the earlier butt (!) of their wit.

Prep suggestions? Just what everyone else says: stay conveniently close to the hopper and prepare to be amazed. The worst part for me is coming out of anesthesia and the subsequent couple of hours, as that is when I generally feel nauseous.

Rough night for you. First you apologize profusely, then you have to void profusely.

Maybe the day after tomorrow will be much better for you.

I have had 3. First two went okay and I had little discomfort afterward. Third one, however, I was sore for a week. Partly, it is an age thing. The older you get the rougher they seem.

If some polyps get clipped, you might have some discomfort for a day or two. Barring anything more serious, you should be fine.

This is the miserable part, but actually having it is nothing. You’ll get something in the vein and be out while it’s done, so it’s no big deal. Don’t worry about that part.

Hope your report is a good one. I will pray for you and I mean it.

I have Chrons Disease so me and GoExtremely are old buds. Believe these people about living on the toilet for the rest of the day/night.

And when you see the long black flexible scope and think you’ll never become gay, remember those of us who were getting scoped when it was solid, metal, about the diameter of a quarter and (I kid you not) “Ribbed”

And yes I’m sure I was at the hospital ;)

My first experience was at about 17ish with a female gastroenterologist...natch. I looked her in the eyes and said “I’ll never be gay. Never!”

After she stopped laughing. we ‘got to know each other better’. And BTW, back then, they didn’t believe morphine and knocking you out were needed.....

I still have nightmares. Be thankful. Obamacare may soon ‘deem’ those drugs too expensive.

As for the Golytly...

flavor it if it comes with flavor packs.

Also, it goes down better refrigerated than at room temp. Just hold your nose and gulp the whole glass. Don’t sip it.

Prep is the worst. They IV’ed the sedative but I have a strong threshhold and I told them I could taste it. It was also cold. They had never heard that.

That joy juice is great stuff! I remember the nurse telling me to lay on my side - and then calling her over and asking her when the juice was going to put me out. She said the procedure was over and I could be driven home! Had know Idea I had been out!
