Actor Frank Bank died this morning, one day after he turned 71. Today is his friend and former co-star Tony Dows 68th birthday.
Bank was primarily know for his role as Clarence Lumpy Rutherford on the Leave It to Beaver sitcom in the 1950s and 60s.

True, the monopoly on news was the bad side of the coin. The explosion of new media sources via internet/radio/cable, however, which seemed such a promising development in breaking this up, hasn’t exactly been paying off dividends over the past few years. I was optimistic over this development ten years ago... hardly anticipating a marxist-inclined president and a country swirling downhill in rapid decay right around the corner.

You know, she really did say that and at the time it was meaningless except for meaning which they intended.
For a long time I thought that was just a joke then one day I was watching an episode and darn! she did really say it.
Lumpy was one of the better actors on that show along with his Father. Heck, everyone on that show was good. They also handled some difficult issuers such as divorce, running away from home, and alcoholism, but they did it in a easy gently way.
