An unknown number. The perps were loaded with explosives, obviously preparing to attack more innocents, until cops took the brunt, including one explosion similar to the marathon bombs. One of those cops took a bullet to the groin and almost bled out. He's still in critical condition last I heard.
And how many citizens did they instill terror into?
If it was THEM who "instilled terror" in the people, it's amazing how all that fear completely went away when the last perp was in custody, and that "terror" turned to cheers for every law enforcement vehicle that came down the street.

And when the government sees patriotic citizens as dangerous terrorists who must be disarmed, while they willfully refuse to tighten up the immigration policies or even to enforce existing immigration law. I’m not defending the mosque, or government policies concerning mosques or muslims. Personally, I think Islam is more than a religion, it is a dangerous political ideology, one that is utterly incompatible with American self-government and liberty.
I’m defending the police officers and the people of Watertown.
The issue is the militarization of civilian police forces, arguably unlawful breach of private property, reckless discharge of weapons, often killing of domestic dogs, gross lack of accountability, unionization, gun grabbing, etc. While there are many instances of heroism, these recurring qualities are in fact representative of statism — not a Constitutional Republic.
If they have to protect me by sticking a pistol in my face when i have committed no crime, I just as soon not be “protected”.
