Nonsense. If thats the case, why did the Jets even acquire him in the first place? You think the acquisition was a conspiracy between the Jets and the NFL to kill Tebow’s career by sitting him on the bench and then releasing him?
He’s just not that good of a quarterback. And, that combined with the fact that the Jets as an organization are inept pretty much killed Tebow’s career. At least as a football player.
That is the $50,000 question; why did the Jets sign him? I think it's been established that Elway didn't like Tebow. When Denver traded him to the Jets there were some stories - I don't know how accurate - that Jacksonville offered a little better deal for him, but Elway sent him to New York anyway. At the time Sanchez had just signed a big contract and certainly hadn't had the disaster of a year he just had, so the Jets weren't looking for a new starter in that position. So why the heck did they take him unless it was Elway's plan to get Tebow out of football sooner than his average QB skills would have done on their own?
The Jests signed him to take the public’s eye of the serious malfunctioning of the rest of the team. After that, they didn’t even manage to use him correctly for that.
