An under the weather tiger needed surgery after failing to cough up a giant furball the size of a basketball.
Poorly big cat Ty was forced to go under the knife so surgeons could remove the 4lb furry blockage from his stomach in Tampa Bay, Florida.
The 28lb tiger had been off his food for almost two weeks after the hairball became stuck in his digestive system.
Staff noticed he was sluggish and only able to eat around a third of his usual intake of daily meat before the furball was found.
Doctors at the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation centre performed an X-ray and ultrasound on the tiger before using a scope with a camera to gauge the size of the unwelcome object.

Hes sort of like my biggest baby. This is my kid, explained founder Vernon Yates. This tiger means more to me than any cat that I have.
Im very thankful that we found what it is. That its not some tumour, cancerous.
Ms Yates added that Ty was feeling much better after his surgery and is now well on the road to recovery.
If only someone had left their shoes in his cage, he’d’ve had an incentive.
He does have his dreams and fantasies.......
Dispose of that toxic waste, please.
Really hard to play golf with that.
Gee, don’t be so testy. I was just trying to give those, who may have been shy to click on the link, a full picture of the source of the hairballs. Geez.
A four pound hairball? Poor kitty. Are you sure he didn’t swallow a Tribble?
I dunno - you’d think there’d be more meat on those things.
Good grief, my last cat loved that stuff! All I had to do was take the lid off the jar, and he would come running. I think he cleaned himself all the more thoroughly just for the hairball remedy.
He probably thinks he IS that big, LOL.
My tomcat tries to steal a vaseline-based ointment every time I use it myself. Gee, what could go wrong with a 16lb cat taking corticosteroids?
Er....nothing. Not a single thing...
The dreadlocks add that something extra! LOL
