Liberal Prof on Amnesty of 11M Illegal Aliens: ‘They’ll Be Supporting Us In Our Retirement Age’

A law professor and senior fellow at the liberal Center for American Progress (CAP) argued at a panel discussion on Wednesday that Senate legislation to give amnesty to some 11 million illegal aliens would allow them to replace retiring Baby Boomers in the workforce and support them and other retired Americans.

CAP’s Robert Lynch said at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, D.C. that the immigration reform bill being pushed in the Senate (S. 744) is not just a benefit to the illegal aliens who would be given legal status and a pathway to citizenship. …

“They are going to be paying into the Social Security system, Medicare, Medicaid, taxes in the U.S. system for the next 20, 25 years when the bulk of the Baby Boomers are retiring,” Lynch said.

“And they’ll be supporting all of us in our retirement age … And they will allow us to do exactly what we have done in the past—it is the workforce of the present that pays for the benefits of those who are in retirement today. So it is elderly Americans who most need those 11 million immigrants to come in here.” …

Unbelievable, this “reasoning”. Utterly base, appealing to some of the basest of assumptions. Thanks for admitting that you want them as a slave class, Lynch.

Since there are 73,600,000 on Medicaid they will have to work pretty hard.

All the same, I don’t think out Amigos will care very much to help out the elderly Gringos. They’ll just say “they ain’t my kin, I don’t owe them nothing.”

The prof has a vivid imagination.

These people have avoided paying taxes up to now, and they already have citizenship ~ IN MEXICO ~ so just why would they want to impoverish themselves just to vote for Democrats?

How is someone who either works at McDonald’s or is on welfare for their entire lives going to support the retirement of an ivory tower buffoon?

For one thing, it’s more than 11 million. That number is going to be far closer to 30 million.

And, if these libs think they’re going to live a quiet and comfortable life after Mexico usurps 1/3 of American territory, they’re in for a very rude awakening.

The pyramid scheme is unsustainable with or without immigration.

Unfortunately, this kind of thinking has already started the euthanasia ball rolling a little faster.

IF amnesty occurs and IF the borders collapse, it wouldn't take long .. maybe 20 years or so, before the aliens become the ruling and voting class.

Guess who'll sit on the death panels and the judge positions ..

Wann'a guess ?

In 2010 the Dailynews estimated LAUSD (Los Angeles) spends about $12,000 a year per pupil
http://www.dailynews.com/opinions/ci_15161619

Nearly 25% of the kids are English learners in California

From http://www.edsource.org/sys_students.html
There are more than 6,000,000 K-12 students in California
Assuming that 25% of the kids are to foreign born parents, there are 1,500,000 kids we should not have to pay for, just in California.

K-12 students go to school for 13 years. That is a cost of $156,000 per kid to go thru school. And then of course, pension costs are not a part of that calculation, so we can safely double how much we pay for their retirement.

This is just the cost of schooling, English learners, the poor and special education needs cost more than the estimated $12,000 a year per pupil.

Then you add subsidized housing, EBT cards and healthcare.

Does anyone really believe an illegal alien is going to be a net gain when each of their kids will cost over $156,000 (or $312,000 including pensions) just to go to school?

Every child in public school costs that. So let’s at least be honest here.

Two, the average immigrant isn’t younger than the average American. Yeah, I know, what a shocker. ;)

This prof is delusional if he thinks this will solve the demographic crisis. No, no, it won’t. It will delay things, but it won’t fix things.

Three, this applies to those people NOT ALREADY IN AMERICA. Those already here aren’t going to be paying anymore taxes t han they already are. Legalizing them is going to give them access to benefits.

Four, it will have the effect of pushing down wages - but then things will change back, with there being even more people for boomer’s children to support, and without the benefit of having them here in America for all and not part of their working life.

Five, what happens when they come in, and the bill comes due and the budget still can’t get covered? What then professor? This does nothing to change the entitlement math, except delaying it for about 5-10 years. What then, smart guy?

This is the same lame brain reasoning that imported islamists to Sweden and France and Germany. Going bankrupt to pay for social services in order to have a pie in the sky future is academic crap.

Is he kidding himself? They’ll be long gone and back in Mexici living off ll the tax free money they made and were able to keep because of all the free “stuff” that we paid for while they were here. Professor, maybe you’re good on a chalkboard with theories and hypotheses but to do in the real world. That condition seems to afflict all libs...

That was the reasoning given, but the true purpose is to divide and destroy western societies. It's being done in England, Australia, New Zealand, - not sure if they have gotten around to Canada yet - might be too cold. It supposedly makes it safer for certain people.

That's why movements like Golden Dawn have risen in Greece and similar movements in other nations. People don't simply accept the demand that they erase themselves from society.

Get real. Illegals *own* the underground economy. They’re quite comfortable there. No matter how hard they work (and to be fair, a lot of ‘em DO work hard), they take most of their compensation under the table. And since they record little or no earned income, they’re at the head of the benefit line.

Illegals will be a net drain on the economy for fifty years or more.

I live here in LA. Citizens pay taxes, Most illegals don’t. Also, that $156,000 is the average, we pay more for English learners, and kids with learning disabilities. Our classrooms have what they call “shadow people”. These are people that stand over a child because the kid has a learning disability and I doubt that that is computed as a school cost.
At the start of every school year, the schools harass me to enroll my kid into their year round free breakfast, lunch and dinners and subsidized healthcare. When I tell them I make too much money, they tell me that income isn’t verified.
