DNA collected at roadblocks [see post 73]
Matt Murphy 105.5 fm alabama

Posted on 06/10/2013 6:19:17 AM PDT by saleman

Our morning drive show reported this morning that the Federal DOT was taking DNA swabs and blood at apparent roadblocks in St Clair Co. Alabama.

Pell City Police chief confirmed that off duty County deputies were used by Fed Dot to man the road blocks.

DNA samples were apparently “voluntary”, as one witness said she was offered 60 bucks for blood and saliva while another declined blood but was paid 10 bucks for saliva.

Nothing to see here folks, move along. After all it was “voluntary"

That doesn’t scare me nearly as much as the genomic stuff they’ll be able to do with it in 20 years.

I’m not talking cloning me (why would they want to do that? LOL). I’m talking targeted pathogens and other SciFi stuff we can only imagine now.

WTF indeed!! kristinn at #73 has great info on the program that is probably, maybe, pretty sure responsible for this abuse of power.

Actually, I thought about that, too..Looking for the "angry white guy" gene, and giving them all some virulent prostate cancer "vaccine"..

I hate it when I get all Alex Jones, or Coast to Coast AM. Guess I need to stop reading, quit using the internet, and refrain from drinking Red Bull.

Some say being stopped for speeding or broken tail light constitutes ‘arrest’.

It is true, why do you think on county dockets, a traffic violation lists the "arresting officer" (your counties verbiage may vary).

So all you have to do is be pulled over by a cop that swears you were speeding. No proof to the contrary other than his word. And they can take your DNA to be preserved forever.

For whatever purpose they deem necessary.

Delightful.

If I were a foreigner there’s NO chance I’d pick this country for tourism. We should get the word out.

“No personal data were collected by PIRE. DNA testing was not the reason for the cheek swab. Saliva analysis for drugs and alcohol is compared to blood sample analysis to see if a valid saliva test for BAC can be developed, thus making the blood test unnecessary.”

I was re-reading your post and the short explanation of the program. What a crock of s—t. Not you, the program itself.

Why in the world would you have to have a roadblock to take samples of drivers, if all you wanted to do was develop a “valid saliva test” for BAC and drugs?

Here’s what I would do. I’m giving the government free advice on how to save money and make their bullshit tests more accurate. If anyone from Government law enforcement is reading this, you can take it or leave it.

You actually have real volunteers, in a lab setting, get drunk. Then you compare breath test to saliva and blood tests. I know that is too simple. Couldn’t work. No way.

I’ll tell you what tho. You hire a lab or do the test yourself. Advertise “Get drunk for Free!” Or “Free Lortabs” and you’d have more volunteers than you know what to do with.

So, since the explanation of the program makes no sense, then what are they actually doing?

So they were testing BAC (blood alcohol level) from saliva?

Why couldn’t they just do this in a lab. Why on the side of the road in the middle of freaking no where?

Fishy.

You beat my post. My thoughts exactly. Who ‘tests’ on the side of the road at night?

This is like the airport search and sexual abuse strategy. They can not focus on foreigners w/o being named racists by our race baiting courts. So they are going to strip all Americans of their rights. This way they can not be accused of racial profiling. They make up b.s. demonizing Obama’s political and social enemies to justify violating the rights of obviously innocent people.

The same sick, fascist/Marxist mentality gave birth to zero tolerance where the white kid with a lego gun or boy scout with a pin knife is treated equally as the armed black gang banger with a switch blade or gun.

The day of the Supreme Court ruling, a woman on the PBS News Hour said the ruling was based on a case brought to the high court’s attention by a man in Maryland. He was arrested for “assault,” and apparently Maryland takes DNA samples for “serious” offenses. I don’t know how they define “serious.”

The woman on PBS said that 28 states plus the feds currently take DNA samples from certain suspects. She said more states may be encouraged to enact similar laws because of the Supreme Court ruling.

This woman....I forgot her name....also said that some states have even stronger laws than Maryland, so she predicted the high court would re-visit this issue in the future.

I don’t have a problem with felons who are CONVICTED of violent crimes like rape, kidnapping, murder, attempted murder, etc. having their DNA collected, but with the current situation, we have to worry about mission creep. Demanding DNA from people arrested for minor offenses is wrong.

Just like the income tax was 3% and only applied to wealthy people.....just like cops would NEVER pull anyone over for not wearing a seat belt....just like waiting periods for gun purchases would NEVER lead to gun bans......we all know how these lies turned out.

Many states now require your finger prints for a conceal carry permit; how long will it before they want our DNA, too? The slippery slope.

Thanks for relevant info. My miscellaneous observations :

There were at least 600 people in 6 locations back in 2007 who were dumb enough to give breath and saliva samples to perfect strangers on the side of the road. About 300 of those dummies actually let that perfect stranger stick a needle in his arm.

This 2nd pilot study for PIRE could easily be serving as a dual pilot study for the Natl Highway Traffic Safety Admin to investigate how feasible it would be to use this methodology for future DNA collection on the general public. It’s “voluntary” today, but what about in the future? (”Want to pass this checkpoint to buy groceries? Get to work? Stick out yer arm & open yer mouth, dude.”) If so, add the NHTSA to the list of alphabet .gov agencies that will be used to enforce the new rules.

It’s hard for me to fathom, but it appears that the 60’s Revolutionary Marxists have been sitting around all this time, dreaming and scheming how they would implement their Utopia if ever given a chance. I was around them in campgrounds in the 60s and 70s while on family vacations. They were the ones skinny-dipping in the streams; hanging out in the gift shops making lewd remarks when i walked past; camping in the flower-power school bus 2 spots down & keeping everyone awake at night with their obnoxious behavior; and the reason i couldn’t see Chicago the summer of ‘68 because it was too dangerous to drive through. I didn’t like them then, and i don’t like them now. I didn’t know the word “narcissistic” back then, but i distinctly remember thinking it every time i saw them. Some things never change, i suppose.

.....and how do we know that the blood probe gadget doesn’t inject a MICRO-Micro chip .....?

That sounds about as irrational, paranoid, and unlikely as saying the IRS would collaborate with the FBI, EPA, BATF, and OSHA to gang up on people with particular demographic profiles. Phhfft!!

Before you know it, you'll be saying the NSA has been collecting all sorts of personal information on us for the past decade. Ha!! < /s >

Sad, isn't it? The microchip technological capability is here. I never thought I'd live to see the day when I'm rereading Revelations and Isaiah to brush up on the end times and Mark of the Beast stuff. (..sigh...)

You assume they’re not looking for more than that.

No, if you'll look into what I said you'll see my assumption is basically that they're liars; indeed, I would go so far as to say that it's probably also a conditioning operation.

Oh. Ok. Agree with that completely.

Refusing to let the nurse take your baby’s DNA in postpartum will get a fast call to social services nowadays too. Ostensibly because you are dooming your child to die of some rare genetic disorder if you prevent their testing for that. And subsequently keeping that DNA sample forever.

Given how utterly corrupt and tyrannical our government is, and is becoming, [with revelations like Fast & Furious, Benghazi, and PRISIM] I think the only way to not be like Alex Jones is to have a pre-frontal lobotomy.
