Why doesn't Rush take calls on "Open Line Friday"?

Yeah, our politicians are just as much of the problems as anything else.

We have discussed at work that the only way to get back control of the country is for the reset button to be hit by something truly awful happening: a whole world war, worldwide financial meltdown and depression, a geomagnetic pulse or storm which would bring about the preceeding two events, the horror of nuclear winter, another dinosaur killer meteor or comet....Any event where the status quo is forever erased.

Unfortunately, that would also mean billions of lives would be erased right along with the awful event and of course that’s no good. So, all in all, there really is no solution I can think of to get the world back on track. If half-way measures like 9-11 and the financial crisis five years ago didn’t wake people up I don’t know of anything other than utter ruin that would change things.

There is one thing that occurs to me: A new Ice Age (real, not the movie) where mankind would have to work together to survive. Still, not a very desirable scenario!

The GOP apparently willing to cave to Senate Democrats on illegal immigration, the possiblity that Obamacare could be defunded, IRS scandal, NSA scandal etc., and what do we get from Rush? Oprah.

Anyway, I heard three calls, maybe four if there was one while I was conferring with a co-worker. His show, his call.

Though when Rush gets off on tangents like J-Lo, Beyonce, Apple anything and Oprah like today, he’s getting in jumping-the-shark territory from where I sit. His show, his call.

But I make the call on my radio and I’m going to Laura Ingraham or old time radio programs more and more lately.

He only uses callers to set up something he wants to expound on.

Rush has always defined the proper job of "The Caller" as "Make the host look good." I don't have a problem with that.
