Ron Paul precisely nails Obama/Syria strategy

The president made it clear that Congressional authorization is superfluous, asserting falsely that he has the authority to act on his own with or without Congress. That Congress allows itself to be treated as window dressing by the imperial president is just astonishing.

The President on Saturday claimed that the alleged chemical attack in Syria on August 21 presented "a serious danger to our national security." I disagree with the idea that every conflict, every dictator, and every insurgency everywhere in the world is somehow critical to our national security. That is the thinking of an empire, not a republic. It is the kind of thinking that this president shares with his predecessor and it is bankrupting us and destroying our liberties here at home.

In “The Sociology of Imperialism,” Joseph Schumpeter wrote of the Roman Empire’s suicidal interventionism:

“There was no corner of the known world where some interest was not alleged to be in danger or under actual attack. If the interests were not Roman, they were those of Rome’s allies; and if Rome had no allies, then allies would be invented. When it was utterly impossible to contrive an interest - why, then it was the national honour that had been insulted.”

Huma Abedin along with the other Muslims who have infiltrated our government poses a greater danger to our national security than chemical weapons in Syria. Illegals pouring over our borders, unchecked, are far more serious.

How hard is it?

1) He publically abandons young Iranians revolting against MB masters a few years ago.

2) He leads from ‘behind’ and has NATO attack Libya to install MB rule - later suffers embarrassment and need to lie profusely about the cause of Benghazi re: SAM, Manpads sent to Syrian rebels.

3) Denounces somewhat sane Eqyptian leadership to install Morsi and the MB, then catcalls and undercuts when they are re-couped by the Egyptian Military, still catcalling and undercutting.....

4) Sides with MB rebels who admit the gas was a screwup in handling of Saudi-supplied equipment...

5) Raised in Muslim Indonesia with his knees and head resting on a rug pointed towards Mecca 5 times a day.

How difficult is that to understand?

I wonder if any of our political types have asked the Dear Leader which items in the budget he wants to cut to engage in Syria? Where does the money come from?

Not really astonishing. This statement presumes that people are in congress because they believe in our democratic institutions and governance framework. In reality they are there for themselves. They are just a bunch of careerists whose votes and support for nearly anything can be easily bought.

If you are a sunni MB then you would ignore any plea from shia Iranians no matter how dire.

I wonder if the Romans ever risked a major conflict just to save face for an emperor?

Now the incompetent CIC, comes to Congress to rubber stamp his incompetency so he can save face. The bottom line, should he get a go ahead and put our armed forces I harms way so this boob can save face. The rebels are loaded with AlQaeda and are no different than Assad. Let them kill each other, and don’t listen to RINOS McCain and his lackey Graham.

Sad that aside from Ron Paul and Ted Cruz and a very few others, the GOP leadership is content to be the eunuchs in emperor Obama’s court.

Congress has to decide between:

  1. Just lobbing this stink bomb back into BO's court since he has made it clear that he doesn't think he needs a CR to act. Or
  2. just doing the right thing and vote down a CR which some chicken hawk like Graham or McCain will wet themselves to introduce.

My head tells me that #2 is the proper course. Though it would be interesting to see what BO does with choice #1.

I also think #1 might be the more prudent course since there is no way to predict the outcome of a CR once introduced.
