'Previously unreleased recordings and studio chatter by The Beatles are to be made available for the first time.
The new release will include early hits and cover songs recorded at the BBC in 1963 and 1964, such as Lucille and The Hippy Hippy Shake.
There is also audio of the group talking to radio presenters such as Radio 2's Brian Matthew.
On Air - Live At The BBC Volume 2, out on 11 November, follows the successful Live at the BBC album issued in 1994.
The Beatles performed a huge catalogue of songs across 275 performances at the BBC between March 1962 and June 1965.
They appeared on 39 radio shows in 1963 and, on one single day, recorded 18 songs for three editions of their Pop Go The Beatles series in a session lasting less than seven hours.
In total they played 88 different songs, most done in one take with little time to correct mistakes.'

Looking forward to it.
I love this stuff. I still have the vinyl edition I bought in 1982 shortly after the tapes were first rediscovered in the BBC basement. With today’s tech, everything can be cleaned up. I am definitely looking forward to this new set.
There’s a reason there’s the Beatles and then there’s everybody else - - the Beatles played over a thousand gigs in the early ‘60s before they hit it big, and all the time they were getting better as musicians and singers, and getting tighter as a band.
What amazes me is that the Rolling Stones have been recording and performing since 1962. Who keeps giving them Tana leaves?
Overrated boy band.
Never liked them and once John Lennon started with his political BS it just sealed the deal.
you are nuts
The Beatles were magical
Lennon-McCartney (together) will go down in history
separate they were mediocre... they only were good together because of the synergy
LOL...I think we can all disregard your opinions on music from here on out.
The Beatles were just a copycat of The Rutles, and only made it big due to superior marketing.
Thanks the scotsman.

“the Beatles played over a thousand gigs in the early 60s”
I think Albert Goldman estimated the number to be around 5000 shows. He shows his math in (I think) his bio of Lennon.
5,000 sounds like a show per day, every single day, for 15 years. I saw an estimate of 1,280, which sounds about right to me. Knock off 250 from the time they landed in the US, and that leaves over 1,000 shows before they “hit it big”. That is a lot of gigs.

If I recall Goldman was counting 3 to 5 shows per day. They had a grueling schedule.
Oh, great! Col. Parker still operating in Vegas?
The Rutles played some shows in England last month.

Last time was just the last time. This time it really is the last time.
I can’t wait to leanr the Liverpool pronunciation of the word ‘focking’!
Saw Neil Innes solo live, in 2005. £10 a ticket and met the man afterwards. Signed my Python item I brought with me.
