Twenty three minutes into Episode 514, entitled “Ozymandias” after a Shelley poem, Breaking Bad made television history. Except that most fans didn’t notice. They were instead ready to cry, scream, vomit, or hurl a waffle iron at the plasma TV, or some combination of the above.

I don’t usually care for cop shows but I started watching Low Winter Sun out of curiosity about how they would deal with Detroit as a backdrop. Plus Mark Strong and Lennie James are great actors.

The first couple of episodes were truly horrible. As the critics said, James and Strong were restrained by bad lines and it was as if the writers hoped pictures of Detroit would carry the show. One local critic made the point that Detroit is a primarily black city and the show tries to hide that fact. (Mark Strong and Lennie James are both British) Lennie James also played Morgan on Walking Dead.

Fortunately the show is getting better as the characters develop and their acting ability begins to shine.

Is it as good as Seinfeld?

Best show ever. Better than the Sopranos. Better than Millenium. Better than The Shield. Better than Dexter.

I can't believe there's any debate about that phone call though. Clearly, Walt was speaking for the benefit of the police that he knew were there. He saw his son call the police right before he kidnapped his daughter!

He said everything he needed to distance Skyler ("I forced you... I told you I would kill you and hurt your family... you don't know anything about what I really do... I built this empire by myself!")

Skyler was crying, because he was saying goodbye to her, and Junior, and the rest of his life. He was even saying goodbye to Walter White.

Look out Todd! Look out Uncle Nazi! Look out Lydia! It's all Heisenberg from here on out.

This is a favorite - Jesse’s friends, Badger and Skinny Pete talking about a Star Trek script - and the voice was set to this animation - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bC6WOY87zQ0

There’s too many Ophelias running around.

Breaking Bad Episode 514, entitled “Ozymandias”, left my heart broken so badly.

It is a masterpiece.

Then there was the gratuitous attack on Sarah Palin in the episode where Odie’s porn star girlfriend went for the abortion. When the receptionist asked for her name she said “Sarah Palin”.

I can get past such things but it was unnecessary and pointless nastiness on the part of the writers.

SOA is one show that I have to actually close my eyes in some scenes because of the violence...but I still watch the show anyway.

What I love most about Breaking Bad (beside it being a great story with GREAT acting)? The amount of holier than though freepers feeling the need to chime in on how they DON'T watch it...
Great, now, piss off said freepers? (I have tons of respect for the freep's that just simply stay away from threads they don't like)

It’s like the ones that always have to come on threads about Television and proudly proclaim they don’t have a television blah blah blah

I would say that the botched hit on Opie taking out his harmless wife instead, was worse.
Or Ope’s horrible, selflessly loyal martyrdom in “Laying Pipe”.

I didn’t even notice the Palin crack.

You should be more annoyed that Sutter stuck a school shooting in for no apparent reason other than to point out the ‘unintended consequences’ of hi-cap mags.

*That* pissed me off.
