California’s great gun grab: State’s sweeping gun control bills target firearms, ammo — and hunting
WASHINGTON TIMES ^

Breaking new ground in the state-level battle over firearms, the Democratic-dominated California state legislature has taken gun control into uncharted territory with a flurry of new bills that target not just firearms and ammunition, but also recreational hunting.

Among the dozen gun-control bills sitting on California Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk are measures that would outlaw lead ammunition for hunting as well as common types of hunting rifles under the umbrella of an assault-weapons ban. Taken together, the measures go far beyond the efforts that have inspired a sharp backlash and political battles in states such as Connecticut and Colorado.

To put the lead bill in context, about 95 percent of all ammunition sold in California contains lead. The alternative is metal bullets, some of which can pierce police armor and are banned by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Critics say the bill would effectively end hunting as a sport in California.

“If California outlaws lead bullets, the federal government already outlaws everything else, so there’s nothing left for hunters to use,” said California Assemblyman Brian Jones, a Republican from Santee. “It basically outlaws hunting.”

That's just common sense right there. Who can't support reasonable common sense measures like outlawing hunting?

CA is solid blue and not too long ago reached legislative supermajority. In a very short time, this will kill all or most gun freedoms in CA. Actually, this will accelerate CA’s demise.

Are you kidding, going after criminals is not only dangerous but it but it overcrowds the prisons and it sends the wrong message to loyal democratic voters. Going after hunters, on the ither hand, is relatively safe. I wonder if all thise hunters that left the NRA because we were “too extreme” get it now? It’s OK guys, pay your dues and come on back.

Gee, I was hoping that the /s wouldn’t be necessary. However, some miss the point ... lesson learned.

CA has a lot of wild critters scurrying around, both in the woods and in the cities. If hunters are not permitted to keep the numbers under control, there will be more interactions between people and animals. Have fun with that.

Back in 1982, the state put on the ballot Prop 15 to ban the sale of handguns in California. Polls showed it would pass by a wide margin.
The night before the vote, CBS News had an hour long broadcast on the evils of handguns in an attempt to sway the vote in favor of the gun ban.
Prop 15 FAILED by a two to one margin. Abti-gunners were stunned!
Since that time, the politicians of Cali have been working overtime trying to find ways around the will of the people.

So they banned some semi-auto rifles. Then magazine bans. so-called safety tests on handguns. More waiting periods. Now a ban on lead.

Soon you will be able to own a firearm, but the ammo will cost you an arm and a leg, taxes, background checks and who knows what else, to try and keep people from legally buying firearms for protection.

Like I say, common sense measures such as outlawing hunting should be something we can all agree on.

The government in California has been taken over by a group of self-serving elite liberal snobs. They use unions and other hidden liberal supporters and shiite-disturbers (like ACORN) who are actively working to bring about the destruction of not only the state but the country as well so they can replace everything with their Utopian Paradise, since the rest of us peons are too stupid to know what is good for us. THEY have to tell us where to go.

I have been advocating for the separation of California into three segments for years now, so the rest of the state is no longer ruled by preciously-perfumed-princes in their stained (and spray-painted) towers. There ARE some people with brains in their heads that have been struggling for years to get us back on the path to prosperity. Unfortunately, most of us have had to actually work for a living, instead of having cushy permanent political jobs and have not been able to take time out from simple survival to be able to spend as much time as we could have to benefit others. Unless we find a way to separate ourselves from the Jerry Brown "Perpetual Obama Supporters" (POS) -types, I see no option other than abandoning the place we hold so dear to the ravages of criminals and barbarians which our elected officials seem so intent upon foisting upon us.

Lately I have been considering separation into four separate areas, with the liberals identified as being in one particular section. Let us see how long they last with the illegals sucking up all their 'largesse', and amazingly, no matter how much they raise taxes on themselves, somehow they can no longer afford to pay firefighters and LEOs.

I will just be somewhere else watching the mobs demanding their free money be taken out of the politician's bank accounts and racial rioting (looting for fun and TVs) beyond description.

Cali must be nearing some kind of economic or societal free fall (not that's surprising).

Easier to invoke martial law that way.

So, my next trip to Vegas will include Relaxing, Gambling, seeing a few Shows and buying Ammo.

Funny how our Legislators spend their time making their Constituents overnight Felons. Go to sleep a Law Abiding Citizen, wake up with a Rap Sheet that matches what one of Obama’s imaginary Sons has on file.

As far as the rest of the new “Laws” go, Compliance with Tyranny is Treason...

MOLON LABE.
