Think they already have auto deploying barricades in DC. One went off went it determined a police car driving at a high speed was a threat. Even beeped an alarm just before it deployed. That was during that episode when the cops executed the crazy lady.
There is no way in pluperfect heck the rest of the world will tolerate autonomous drones killing people. In past, they have come close to outlawing high altitude bombing, because it was regarded as too impersonal and indiscriminate.
The bottom line is that, if a robot ever kills a person using its own programming, everyone involved with it can be declared a war criminal. A single homicide might, by extension, implicate hundreds of people.
What could possibly go wrong?
Any person who advocates for, proposes means to achieve, writes
legislation supporting or doing ANYTHING to achieve such a goal is
either clinically insane or demonstrably evil and beyond salvage.
Such persons need to be taken into custody the moment such actions
or exhortations occur and evaluated. If insane they need to be placed
in a safe environ where they cannot harm society. If sane they need to
be given a first class trial followed by the long drop on a short rope.
