‘Freakish’ Asteroid Has Six Tails, Sheds Stuff Into Space
universetoday.com ^ | November 7, 2013 | by Elizabeth Howell on

Posted on 11/07/2013 11:14:14 AM PST by BenLurkin

The mystery started when astronomers spotted a really blotchy thing in space Aug. 27 with the Pan-STARRS survey telescope in Hawaii. The Hubble Space Telescope then swung over to take a look on Sept. 10, revealing all these tails of debris flying off the asteroid.

Don’t be fooled. It’s Darth Vader’s TIE interceptor, spinning out of control and leaking coolant into space.

There’s something you don’t see every day, an asteroid with dandruff.

If the object were truly spinning as they claim wouldn’t the tails show curvature as they emanate from the object?

Interesting.

Depends on the spin rate. It if takes 20 hours for a rotation and the asteroid is traveling thousands of miles per hour, you might not see any curvature over that distance. Of course it could also be the out put of a directional rocket steering it into the path of Planet Earth. That is always a possibility in this universe.
