I drive past this every time I go through Marsing on my way somewhere else (usually Reno-Tahoe area).
Dang! I missed that one the few times we’ve been through Marsing...mostly went through there because we detoured at Burns, OR, to get a Basque dinner in Jordan Valley. From there, we usually took 78 down to Bruneau, then over to I-84, instead of just going over to Nampa.
We had to do a lot of traveling back & forth between Medford, OR and South Dakota, until we finally got the Oregon house sold, so took a lot of ‘scenic routes’. There isn’t an east-west route across Wyoming, including several unpaved ones, we didn’t use at least once.
But NEVER saw Chicken Dinner Road. :-(
I’m impressed to references to Chicken Dinner road on the first page. No one ever told me it was world famous.
For anybody that is curious, this is the legend of how the road got the name. http://www.ktvb.com/news/local/64289942.html
