Where are we going?

Posted on 11/08/2013 8:12:27 PM PST by Smellin Salt

I can’t believe how far this once great country has devolved In the last twenty years. I feel a great sense of remorse and responsibility that I didn’t do anything to stop the creeping liberalism that gave rise to the America hating radical Marxist that now resides in the White House. The daily news stories about the failures of the Obamacare website, testimonies before Congress, Obama going on television to say how sorry he is that we feel like we got screwed, man I feel like I’m living a nightmare over and over. How the hell did we go from the Ronald Reagan years to the low point we are at currently? And baby,we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

I stopped by the grocery store tonight on my way home. I live in a town just south of Houston, Texas. It was busy, being Friday night. Almost every conversation that I was privy to was in Spanish, the ones that really kill me are the parents talking to their pre-school age children in Spanish. I see it every day, and it makes me sick. I fully understand pride in ones culture, but this is different. The reconquista is here, which leads to a whole other set of questions. Why do you want to come to the land of plenty and not want to make a clean start and assimilate? The answer is, you don’t. You want to conquer.

The labels on the food packages have the Spanish word for the product in almost as large of text as the English word.

There is a stretch of a state highway around here where all the billboards are in Spanish.

When I was a kid, growing up in South Texas, the illegals coming across the border came to work. Many stayed and had families, which were some of the people I grew up with. It was an accepted fact, and those people thrived, and did better than they could ever do where they came from. It led to a mixing of the cultures, which is where Tex-Mex originated. Fajitas, anyone? Then came the radicals. Paint the Whitehouse brown yata yata yata.

I’ll never forget, my grade school principal. He was Hispanic, although we didn’t know that word at the time. When he caught ANYONE speaking Spanish on the school grounds, it was off to his office and harsh punishment ensued.

My sister and BIL live in the same small South Texas town that I grew up in. I could not wait to leave there when I was sixteen, but now I can’t get enough of it. I went off and served my time in the United States Air Force (22 years), and my dream in the last several years was to buy some land in South Texas to retire to, at at lest enjoy on weekends. Well, since I visit there a lot, and reality set in, my wife and I decided to finance a lot in the Florida Panhandle. It breaks my heart, since where I want to be is South Texas, but it is what it is.

As a kid, we left our doors unlocked at night. My sister and her family have storm shutters over every door and window that they close at sundown every night. As children, we played outside until well after sundown. Now they lock the doors and wear a sidearm to go outside to do lawn work. (No I’m not kidding, it’s that bad) They have stories that the media obama/democrat/radical leftist enablers do not repeat. Car chases, bailouts, people dressed in black carrying AK-47’s etc. Routine stuff, right?

I read the news about lgbt whatever the acronym is today, and it makes me sick. This organization nambla (read about it) is gaining traction. California passed a law that says that a person is whatever gender they feel themselves to be. Man, that’s a boon to teenage boys. I’ve got to assume that they all identify as girls now so they can visit the girls bathroom. Have we become this stupid? And the people of California voted for this? I’ve always said our civility, our acceptance and tolerance is going to destroy us. We were at our best when we hung horse thieves upon conviction, and if you were a sexual deviant, you hid it.

Let’s talk a minute about how the Christian faith is being criminalized BY OUR GOVERNMENT, while islam is being praised. We all heard the “clinging to our guns” speech obama gave at a private donor gathering in San Francisco. Really, in this environment of the Republicans “war on women”, the old, children, unicorns, rainbows, whales and all other living things, our president lectures us about how great islam is? And all this while his enablers tell you what kind of great Christian he is? AAARRRGGGGGHHH. I’ve freaking had it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DISCLAIMER: I can assume I speak for most Americans when I say that I don’t give a damn what race, creed, color, sexual identity, hair color, eye color, foot size, etc the president is as long as he upholds the Constitution.

We have not even begun to see the long lasting effects of obamacare. This law was intended to lead to one thing, the government being put in complete control of our health care system, and thusly, our economy.

I’m to the point that when I see an Obama bumper sticker, or an I heart Obamacare sticker, I fly into a rage, pull up beside the person, make my gun finger at them, or say something to them in a parking lot. Yes, I have anger issues. Never had them before, but now that I’m older, and have children that are going to have to live their lives under this tyranny, they’ve suddenly manifested themselves into anger. I don’t know what to do. I’ve severed ties with my liberal acquaintances (notice I didn’t say friends), told them that I now consider them enablers and I hold them personally responsible for the decay of the greatest nation to ever grace this earth, and they better hope the lights don’t go out for good. Oh. I’ve got plans. My God, what have I become?

It’s over here. Everyone. White brown black green votes D

But the weather is still damn good and the girls and trees are pretty too

So I’m staying

And in this hippie town in Marin county everyone believes in karma do I don’t ever have to lock crisp or watch my small kids too close

( but close enough! Cars are still driven by people in a hurry far too often)

Anyway. Where you choose to live is very important. But mostly for the environs

Fla has some incredible waterways Incredible

And beaches too!

Please enlighten me why I am wrong about Bush.

I thought George HW Bush had a somewhat successful presidency, but his inability to stand up to the Democrats (”Read My Lips”...) is what gave Bill Clinton an opening to sneak in the door.

And Obama never would have made it into office without 8 years of Bush junior warming up the room.

I should also add that, for me, homo-marriage is the end game, the belwether. It’s not entirely this issue alone, but it serves as the cultural symbol of America’s decay. America’s descent into evil. If America does indeed embrace it, without fight, my interest in the preservation of the republic comes to a complete end.

We are at the point of no return, barring an economic calamity which results in the election of officials who respect private property and the Constitutional order. It could happen, but the odds are not great.

The question then is can we separate ourselves from these murdering thieves, who will pick our families’ pockets clean and turn us into slaves for them? Separation may be the only option.

Welcome to Texas. We need all the reinforcements we can get.

Never surrender, never give up!

Excuse the Galaxy Quest reference.

Read 2 Chronicles 29 and see how quickly God turns a nation around. The chapter ends itch verse 36: “Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced over what God had prepared for the people, because the thing came about suddenly. “

I’ll never forget an Argentinian warning William F. Buckley on his ‘Firing Line’ show that this country was going the Argentine way. When was it? I think during the Reagan years; I was a young lad then. Buckley dismissed the warning. Argentina, which 80 years ago was one of the top six world economies, has never recovered from Peronism despite having several years of military dictatorship. This is where we are going, if we’re not there already! No country in history has returned from the welfare state misery. Obamafoams are forever, foo stams are forever... continue the list yourself

It ain’t worth trying to defend Bush here, but I appreciate you. Bush is the only Republican president I have had in my adult life.

Is that really all that matters to you? You'd give up living in a place that more resembles the real America, just so you can enjoy the weather and the scenery in Commieland?

Damn...

I was born in Monterey County in 1953 and lived in California until late 2005, when I packed up my small business and my family and pushed off to Texas. California was wonderful for much of the time I lived there, but the California I knew has disappeared.

What made it a paradise wasn't the natural beauty of the place and the incredible weather. No, it was the American ideals instilled into nearly everyone who made that place the jewel of the country. When those who possess those ideals became outnumbered by those who blindly accept or truly believe in leftist ideals, the heart and soul went out of the place.

You may as well be living in some gorgeous South American country that's run by a Socialist dictator and his corrupt goon class.

Good (albeit sorrowful) rant.

It’s easy to see in hindsight that “we let them” get away with this, that, and the other thing, to our own destruction as a nation.

But why does this type of history repeat? It’s because at the time, it always seems like a good idea... mercy, tolerance, compassion that is. A good-hearted people (I don’t mean mindless, bleeding heart types, just decent honest citizens) want to give the benefit of the doubt. It’s the default mode of a good people. It’s simply not natural for them to assume the worst in others and draw a cold, fixed line in the sand. Just because, if nothing else, they might be wrong. There’s a deep love of and sense of justice that is inherent in this attitude.

The history of Israel (ancient and modern) is full of missteps - their being too kind and compassionate to people who hate them and want to wipe them out. And ironically IMO that peculiar type of disobedience marked Jacob as the true heir to the promises given to Abraham. Contrast Esav/Amalek... would *they* hold back from wiping out nations for any reason at all, much less out of a sense of mercy? Amalek preyed upon the weak and weary.

Obama is where he is because his like-minded Amalekite predator voters put him there, many eager to vote multiple times to void out lawful opposition.

An abuser is keen to place the blame on his victim. We the People are the true heirs to our nation, not the bully abusers and ingrate interlopers, try as they might.

Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

I don't think there's so much hatred of the Bush's on FR. It's more like a deep and abiding disappointment that goes down to the bones of conservatives.

So many of us pinned so much hope on George W, and he fell short time and time again. Most of us never wanted to believe that he was a moderate squish who felt comfortable forwarding an agenda that was more Democrat than Republican, but his record shows that's exactly what he was.

Try to understand that quite a few people feel betrayed by him.

Even better question for the Lord is what CAN you become?

Lamech is not suggested as a role model, incidentally.

The last real President we had was Ronald Reagan. I miss the 80s. Things were not perfect, but they were a lot better then than they are right now. America was a lot better then than it is right now.
