I actually like tonight’s episode because I was beginning to be bored with the flu situation at the prison. (First world problems, I know)
I like that TWD showed us that The G was having a mental breakdown (David Morrissey is a GREAT ACTOR). Was he truly evil or did Penny’s situation and ultimate death push him over the cliff? With everything he has done to this point, he has convinced us that he is evil. But the genius of the show is trying to get us to sympathize a little with him.
Having said that, I still don’t get at what point he is looking at the prison after the outbreak. It’s obvious it’s after he befriends Meghan’s family. But how much after? Is he, at that point, wanting to join Rick and the survivors to assure Meghan and her mom/aunt’s survival? I’m so confused.
LOL! Was asking hubs how he found time whilst nutting up on the road to throw some Just For Men on his twisted noggin.
And a bit slow.
The Governor is on Talking Dead tonight.
David Morrissey kind of explains the scene at the prison on Talking Dead.
That's my thought too.....
So what was the basis for the episode’s title “the Bait”? I didn’t get it.....
I’m just now watching it.
Looks to me like it’s a version of the book, “Rise of the Governor.”

I listened to that on audiobook last year. It was pretty good.
Diesel last longer, of course. Especially if you just turn the tanks and get everything back into solution.
I note the Gov at least used a truck.
Also, the ex-goons of the Gov built trenches to trap zombies like I’ve been saying for 2 years now.
“Live Bait”? I’m not sure.
I did see a resemblance to Meghan in those two girls/women. Family?
Since it was at the end of last week's episode, I believe it was present day.
Last night's episode is a flash back many months to when he killed his own group then took off in the truck with the two homies.
As for staring at the prison from the edge of the woods, he's probably plotting revenge against Michonne and saying to himself "I'm gonna keep an eye out for her"..........
It amazes me how this show manipulates my viewpoints. I actually found myself feeling a little sympathy for the governor (and yes, I do feel dirty). It was interesting seeing him eaten up with guilt over everything he did.
That said, it was pure momentary emotion on my part. The governor is who he is, and there can’t be any redemption for him. As David Morrissey said, the character is struggling to keep the psychotic part of himself in check, but that’s not going to last. The guy really is an excellent actor.
I guess the next episode will be about him, too. I’m ready to go back to the prison.
Good grief, he threw out a plate of perfectly good Spaghettios.
LOL! My thought exactly about the Spaghettios!
David: (Laughs) He was eating tuna, which -- it can be used as cat food, but he was eating tuna. I think there's a reason he throws the spaghetti hoops away. [It has] to do with the fact that he doesn't want to be indebted to anybody. She's given him a gift and he doesn't want it.
Access: Although tuna is protein and that's probably a much healthier option for him.
David: Maybe. I don't think that's why he's doing it. I don't think he's on a non-carbs diet in the zombie apocalypse (laughs). I don't think that's where he's going with that.
I wonder if he didn’t want to develop an emotional attachment to them, at first - and eating their food represented that to him. Seemed like he had kind of lost his will to live there for a while.
