To the American press:
Why have you allowed yourself to be neutered? How can you live with the knowledge you have about our government and be so submissive as to allow politicians to order you around?
You are but a shadow of your former self.
Your cowardice is on full display to thinking Americans. Your agenda is YOUR agenda, not the vast majority of Americans. Your approval ratings, your viewership ratings, your subscription sales all tell this story quite clearly. Yet you continue to abdicate your historical responsibility of monitoring the political leaders and guarding against corruption and deceit.
You are but a shadow of your former self.
You have sold your soul for cocktail parties and the transitory glow of the spotlight. And in doing this, you have abandoned your country to predatory politicians who would be so easily tamed by just a few strong questions from you.

True, they are the real problem. Obama and the rest could never have done all the damage to our country if the press had just been there.

I gave up my Boston Globe in June after SIXTY years.
Other than the daily crossword puzzle I was surprised to learn that I don’t miss it at all.

Why they allow corruption and deceit on a massive scale is beyond me. No matter how many perks...and the underlings that are ordered by the media chiefs - do they have so little self respect that they can allow themselves to be so manipulated.
I gave up my local newspaper when Maureen Dowd wrote a childish article about President Bush (43) in 2003.
Never missed it, even for a day.
And glad to know that I no longer subsidize their agenda...

The media are liberal, and they fell in love with Obama.
They have abdicated their responsibility because they want Obama to be able to fulfill his radical agenda. They know that honest or critical reporting would inhibit his liberal agenda.
The media are no better than Pravda in the old Soviet Union.
If not for talk radio, internet sites, and Fox News (sometimes), there would be total liberal control of all information we see and hear.

Washington, D.C. is Gay-friendly over every other place in the US.
I encountered my first Gays in college among those enrolled in "Radio & TV" courses. Most were from NY and NJ, and that was 50 years ago! Through their manipulative entanglements, how else would the IRS, NSA, EPA and other US Agencies employ such cooperation with Washington's Marxists?
If it ever comes to it they will be the first ones against the wall. Count on it.
DC is the hot center of the homo universe. Some neighborhoods on the west side are majority homo, and there are tons of them living on Capitol Hill, too. I declined a good tech job in Adams-Morgan back in ‘00 because I would have been the only straight working there. I couldn’t see that working out well.

But why would the media ‘make’ a king of someone who wants to fully control and subjugate them?
The pitifulness of the media makes ordinary Americans look on them with disgust.

Walter Cronkite was a leftist and a pathological liar, and he was not the first such in American Big Media.
The media have their own internal contradictions. That’s why they would make a king of someone who wants to control them. Because the person who wants to control them is liberal, and the media are liberal, they are okay with it.
The liberals are ok with control over people’s lives, as long as the ones doing the controlling are liberal.
They do not see it that way. They believe that they are the ones in control. They see establishing "kings" like Obama and Clinton as investments in their own agenda. They don't worry overmuch about losing control because they have power over the "kings" image and message. If he gets too far out of line, they believe that a few days of bad coverage is all it takes to make him dance to thier tune again.
IMHO they are unwise and presume much. At the end of the day the only thing protecting them from thier king is the little bit of parchment that the First Amendment is written on. They have elevated a man who cares nothing for that document, or any other. I think they are going to live to regret it. Part of me hopes that they do.
