There are so many amazing science fiction movies that it's hard to include all the greats in a list of 50. It may not be the same 50 you'd pick, but I hope you enjoy this list of must-sees.

I’ve seen 31 of the 50.

And, because I know everyone is just dying to know my opinions (grin):

IMHO, Gattaca and eXistenZ deserve to be on the “must watch” list. Gattaca was brilliant sci-fi, and eXistenZ was an overlooked virtual reality gem. I much prefer it to the big budget Matrix flicks, and think it’s every bit as good as Dark City.

No mention of The Thing (either version) or Tron?

IMHO, Brazil and Clockwork Orange don’t fit into any one genre, but IMHO have enough sci-fi elements to be on the list.

I had to check out the bar scene again from Terminator 2. Classic.

The list should have at least been 100 but with more balance of the different kinds of scifi

Did you guys ever see De Boer in an ep of the 1990’s version of The Outer Limits called “Quality of Mercy” ?

Whoa. She’s excellent in the ep, but man, what a downer!

Yes.

I even saw some episodes/clips of "Deep Water Black"/"Mission: Genesis" online but they aren't easy to find.
