71 out of 75, all except for “Teenage Mutant...” (no interest), “Labyrinth” (don’t recall having seen it), only saw part of “The Usual Suspects” (couldn’t get through it) and clips of “This Is Spinal Tap.” Curiously, I only watched 7 of them in the theater.

BTW, how could they have left out two of the Star Wars films from 1980 & ‘83 ?

how could you forget Flight of the Navigator?

big pecan-shaped silver spaceship flown by a kid.

But I think they meant another movie called "Explorers"

Eh, I thought there were only a few out-and-out duds on the list, and most of them were the sequels. Mannequin wasn’t very good, either.

58...oddly enough I enjoyed most of them too.

I don’t think I’ve been to the theatre that many times since then and it’s been mostly kid movies. It’s a combination of kids being born and being not all that interested in the movies.

31 and yes, most I saw on TV. And I may have over estimated a bit.

Multiple viewings include “Spaceballs” a great, under rated parody and “Princess Bride” a movie that really holds up.

“[Highlander] is the greatest film ever made.”

But your tagline is that great quote from “Repo Man”!

We love Repo Man, a great flick. Hubby always quotes the line when the one guy says his pregnant, in labor, wife will take the bus to the hospital “She’s a rock.”

Loved, loved, LOVED Adrian Paul in the Highlander TV series, what a heart throb!

As something of a moviephile, even as most popular, this list strikes me as very weak.

For example, IMDb’s list of just the most popular films for the year of 1980 alone, includes: The Shining, Star Wars V, The Blues Brothers, Airplane!, and Caddyshack.

If you want to search for popular films, here is the search string to use, just changing the year at the end.

http://www.imdb.com/search/title?sort=moviemeter,asc&title_type=feature&year=1981,1981

35. Less than half. And I would say that less than half of those 35 were any good. How does “Tron” and “the best” go in the same sentence?

Highlander was AWESOME. I was at the Meadowlands when they filmed the wrestling scene- in the movies it took place at the Garden. I was seated in the section right behind the Highlander! There were a lot of extras running around. I asked a security guard what was going on and he said it was a Sean Connery movie about sword fighting. Little did I know .....I even liked the series. shame they never made a sequel to the movie ( total denial. The sequels never happened)
