LA HABRA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — More than a dozen teens were arrested Wednesday after they allegedly broke into a La Habra Heights home, threw a party and caused more than $1 million in damage, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The alleged party took place overnight, between Nov. 23 and Nov. 24, officials said.
“During this same time frame, several of the party-goers burglarized and vandalized the residence,” Lt. Arthur Scott said.
During a two-week investigation, sheriff’s detectives at the Industry Station identified 18-year-old Nickolas Koontz and 14 juveniles as suspects, all of whom live in Whittier or La Habra.
The suspects were arrested Wednesday morning for burglary and trespassing after deputies served four search warrants.
The respective warrants also resulted in the recovery of stolen items, ranging from designer clothing, art affects, electronics and a mounted snow leopard, Lt. Scott said.
Authorities planned to discuss the case and arrests during a 4 p.m. news conference.

My senior year in high school a guy came back from college and thinking he had everything under control, and being cool as hell he decided to throw a huge keg party to make a bunch of money. He had about 150 kids there and then the cops showed up. The kids wouldn’t leave and were kicking holes in the sheet rocked walls and throwing pictures around the house and pool balls through the windows. He didn’t make any money and his parents were furious.
Now, that’s a party.. worst I ever saw was some smashed in sheet rock and a glass coffee table crushed.

Heck, with the wire and aluminum siding looters, there doesn’t even need to be a party motive for people to trash someone’s home or business.

My guess is probably less than an unmounted one, although that may seem counter-intuitive to male snow leopards.
I’m still waiting on the results from when those college brats broke into, partied at and sprayed graffiti on the home of a retired football player. He later posted their crimes online and had the parents threaten to sue him for slander.
The L A times website says the mounted snow leopard is valued “at more than $250,000.

Nah. That's just another parental bailout and it's probably part of how these kids went bad to begin with.
Put 'em in a chain gang and make them do hard physical labor at minimum wage until they pay off the debt.
