I had just gotten out of the shower, and was getting dressed for work, when I heard a loud explosion. I looked out the window and saw a large plume of smoke.
I went out with my digital camera and recorded the video I posted on my YouTube channel. I don't know what exploded yet, and I don't have time to check because it is almost time for me to start the job. I'll probably find out later what happened.

An elaborate yet sinister plot by evil forces to find out how many freepers are active at 7 pm via the number of youtube views. 284 and climbing.
Maybe a drone on a practice run.
Don’t overlook the possibility of a UFO crashing. With aliens and throw in a farmer for good measure.
Is there perhaps an electric utility substation in that area?

The darker smoke looks like fuel from a vehicle and the lighter smoke looks like a resultant brush fire. Good thing it was outside of town and not nearer to you.
