I am done. This site has broken me. I am as staunch a conservative as you will find. After returning from Iraq, injured and upset, I turned here and found a welcoming community that shared my thoughts. I am a proud Gadsden Flag waiving man of the Tea Party movement. But because I don't think Sarah Palin is as historically important as other GOP women in the past, I am now considered an idiot, a RINO, ass-kisser and whatever negative connotation you can throw my way. This site has changed so much since that dictator want to be became President it sickens me. It's lost its sense of community and has ran off many a good person. Heck even the Tea Party seems to be distorted here.
I’ll try to remember that the next time I’m tempted to post something positive about Japan’s attitudes about sex... (just kidding, they’re weird)

Maybe I share some of your frustrations — with life in the modern US, if not about FreeRepublic as a forum. I served 20 years in the military, with a break in service and reserve time, so that I took the oath of enlistment in 1966, was commissioned in 1968, and retired in 1993. I stood against communists for a long time. It’s hard to realize that the Republic we were dedicated to serving is gone. Not only is it gone, but there is nowhere else for us to go. Running into trolls here makes that even more infuriating.
Sarah Palin is important for what she has tried to do, for the potential that she represents. In a better time, she would be recognized and probably would be president by now. This is not a better time.
Is she great? She is important as one last, clear voice of sanity in a post-freedom USA. All 300 Spartans were important to all Western history. But name the last ten to die. They are “great” for what they represent, not individually. Even Leonidas was not a great and famous king. He was definitely important though.
Xerxes was the great king, by the way, and all he is now remembered for is being defeated by a few Greeks that pulled together after the 300 held the pass to give them time to organize.
Stick with FreeRepublic, aft_lizard, we are giving the forces of freedom time to collect themselves, sharpen their swords, and polish their armor. Our job is to make the modern Xerxes come and take it.

It’s a common pattern. PDSer spouts PDS and gets railed.
PDSer screams persecution/the forum has gone downhill
PDSer upset that people hold his feet to fire and avoids addressing his own BS in the matter.
Then they threaten to leave and rarely do. Attention whoring basically.
PDS and liberal behavior go hand in hand. There is nothing wrong with having disagreements with her over legit issues. But you RARELY see legit issues form the basis of a PDSer complaint.

Yep. If you don’t worship at Palin’s boots your a loser. I’ve gone through plenty of that. Now I only post about 2nd Amendment stuff and interesting stuff. When it comes to Palin the “Dunking chair” comes out.
