Liberals outraged (hard to believe) about Cadillac ad

The point is, the left really is anti-American tradition. The left really does not believe in the all American dream. It’s not that they don’t even believe it; they advocate against it. That’s what this Cadillac hullabaloo illustrates and is all about. You know, we think we’re all in this together. We might have our disagreements, Democrats and Republicans, but we all want the same things. We don’t anymore.

There is not a singular American culture that’s oriented around growth and prosperity and individual achievement and success. That’s not what the Democrat Party’s about anymore. Their power base is not rooted in people like that. Their power base is rooted in the failures and victims of our society. And they are trying to create even more of them.

The enemy, as far as the Democrat Party and the American left are is concerned, the enemy are the successful, the enemy is those who are achieved. The enemy is the philosophy that undergirds the American dream. It’s called consumerism and capitalism and it’s supposedly void of any real meaning and no values. It’s just about who has more stuff and who has more money and who’s richer and all that, and they are full-fledged resentful of that.

GM (correctly) found that it has a problem with conservative buyers. The commercial was a sly attempt to address that.

FAIL. Slick talk doesn't cut it.

Yes, I got that about Les Paul. They had a demographic to target and they went for it.

It’s still a memorable commercial, though.

Years ago Cadillac had a magazine ad that showed a dark parking lot. A new Cadillac was conspicuously lit by a street lamp. Behind it was a darkened office building with light coming from one lone window. The text was something along the lines of “Hard work has its rewards.” As a conservative, I thought “Right... I’m going to sacrifice my personal life - time with my wife, kids, church - so I can have a fancy car? No way.”

I felt like I was being pandered to. I mean did you catch the Les Paul mention?

At best, the commercial is accidentally ironic. At worst, it's intentionally luring conservatives in to give cover to Government Motors. The message may be true, but the messenger is false.

The suit he was wearing at the end was too small.

Everything in these ads is carefully choreographed. What was the purpose of the too-tight suit?

It’s a nice commercial. But it wouldn’t convince me to EVER buy another GM product.

“The commercial was a sly attempt to address that. “

Notice the guy is smart enough to charge the fire trap outside. It’s a new skin on a Volt. I read recently that a reporter called several California dealerships to get a replacement battery quote and was told “somewhere between $3,800-$38,000.” And that’s for a B grade battery. The car comes with a higher grade battery. Nobody knows for sure yet what it costs.

As long as Corvette’s are made, I’ll always have a reason to buy a GM product.

I’m with ya. I just watched the ad. Cadillac isn’t my style of car but that was one kick-a** ad. The ad agency, crew and cast knocked that one out of the park.
THANKS and AMEN.

========================================

ALEX MURPHY says to ME (He wouldn't say this to a GUY, of course.): "Don't get sucked in - Cadillac is owned by Government Motors."

ALEX MURPHY: Mr. Wet Blanket should be his call sign.

600 Channels spewing liberal clap trap 24x7 including gays making out on TV, gays raising kids, effeminate guys in every single TV ad, and they are whining about 1 commercial that sort of goes against it. Amazing.

I wonder WHY I am supposed to care why .5-1.5% of the population (predominately men) choose to defy their genetic urges and mate with a person of the same gender.

It is not only ill fitting, so to speak and USELESS, it is a sin in EVERY faith in history.
