Washington (AFP) - Social media erupted in outrage and counter-attacks Friday after US comedian Stephen Colbert used language that mocked Asian Americans in what was intended as an anti-racist jibe.
Colbert, who is liberal but parodies a blustery conservative on his late night talk show, took aim at the Washington Redskins football team whose name is considered offensive by many Native Americans.
Colbert mocked team owner Dan Snyder who has announced a fund to support Native Americans while rejecting calls to change the name.

Don Imus was considered a conservative after his nappy headed ho joke. When they finally discovered he was a liberal, all the controversy ended.

He’ll get a hall pass because he fits the mold of a didiot to a “T”. Only when a conservative does something like this is there real heartfelt condemnation. Libs? Meh!
As much as I detest and despise Stephen Colbert and anything that he stands for, I too think the Asians in this country just need to get the hell over it.
If they’re upset over “ching chong ding dong” and the like, they should spend a couple of days in a bald white man’s shoes say, at a black or latino comedian’s show where they’ll hear every tame and vile epithet, innuendo and stereotype known to man. And these guys don’t get to complain and be ‘outraged and upset’.

Those with slanted eyes really need to grow a pair. Having been called several ethnic slurs myself (often for ethnic groups that I am not a part of, but mistaken for), I just shrug it off and flip them the bird.

Fantastic. THE BEST racism parody (common stereotypes & etc.) movie ever for conservatives. Mel Brooks is a gift to to the world.
I found humor in Colbert at first, however, he almost exclusively targeted Republicans and Conservatives. His show became tiresome and boring. Haven’t watched it in 6-7 years.
