It’s been sunny the last week and then the clouds rolled in just today. If Oregon was a person I’d have the most expensive pizza on the menu delivered to his house.

we’re on top of a tall hill so we have a great seat and good weather for this. When the moon is totally eclipsed the orb nature of it is so much more apparent. Very cool !

It looks like you could reach out and grab it!

Incredibly beautiful sight, with Mars above and a little star nearby.

At least I got to help crash a web site, anyway. Their feed is down from too much traffic!

Oh, that other copper sparkle was Mars!

Did anyone else see a ton of flashbulbs popping outside? Funny. They can’t have been good photos.

Today is also the closest approach of Mars in the last six years.

Spica, 260 light years from Earth.

A blue giant star and 12,000 times brighter than our Sun.

Thanks for the info about that "tiny" little star near the blood moon. Very pleased to see the show tonight. Wispy clouds are just starting to arrive ahead of the storm system.

Watching it here in western Colorado, clear night sky, at 4800’ above sea level. Excellent viewing. My Fujinon 7X50 binocs are great for this sort of thing ...
